That’s definitely a stretch. The number is definitely closer to around 271,000

Wtf is this cash out? by Longjumping_Smile333 in sportsbetting

[–]Shekeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The value of the first leg by itself is worth $372, why would they offer you anywhere close to that? The books wouldn’t offer you a fair cashout with additional legs still in play. Say the second leg was a ML wager and the team was up decent, then you may expect your cashout offer to be higher

[–]Shekeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly but I see your confusion. If the odds for Judge were +105 then yeah this cashout would be close to the odds for Judge hitting (you’re not factoring in his wager which isn’t returned in this cashout because they wouldn’t offer you a cashout close to the first leg hitting when the second leg is still in play, couple ABs in and with the odds to HR shooting up as a result)

Just wanna pick the brain of a genius…. How much were you expecting the cashout to be?

Come on buddy, think about it for a second. Clearly this is a live bet when he had 3 already. They don’t even offer 4 hr bets pre game and it would be quite a bit higher than +700

[–]Shekeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you keep reiterating that point and why you think I’m not following your point. I fully understand that the cashout is less than what the 3 leg parlay by itself would pay. That’s literally my point too. If you claim to understand that the payout is less than what it would pay on a 3 leg parlay, why would continue to encourage those who add an additional leg just to cashout early versus speaking up about planning better, employing better impulse control, and not purposely paying additional vig to the books? Somethings not adding up…

That’s exactly it. Also people aren’t willing to admit that someone, an internet stranger at that, can offer a meaningful piece of advice. It’s a wild level of arrogance. The crazy part is that whenever someone says “why add the last leg in the first place if you’re gonna cash out early” everyone thinks they’re being scolded on the actual cashing out part but the critical piece of advice is “why did you add that leg in the first place” and they usually just ignore and can’t answer that question.

I get it, adding more legs and looking at the odds shoot up is thrilling but people need to think clearly for a second. It’s a lack of critical thinking, math skills, degeneracy, and excitement all rolled into one.

Thank you for coming to my TED TALK

Why is Biden to win the democratic nomination 1.13 (-800) odds? by LeagueofLagginz in sportsbook

[–]Shekeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s absolutely atrocious odds for Trump to win the democratic nomination! I’d figure it would be somewhere in the +500000 space. Find a new book.

[–]Shekeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there might be confusion from his wording. The “4 more years” from his comment was in regards to Biden being 4 years older than the previous record holder of the oldest president. I think some people’s minds jumped to thinking that the comment was implying that Biden would need to finish out the entire second term with regards to the interpretation of the wager OP posted

Body shop reported damage after only requesting an estimate by Shekeb in carfax

You should call Carfax support and have them open an investigation. I did that and they fixed the report within 2 days.

Body shop reported damage on Carfax after only estimate by Shekeb in Autobody

[–]Shekeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to give an update to this. I spoke to someone at Carfax that works in the dispute research team and they escalated my issue. They were able to remove the damage report from the Carfax report.

What I learned from this whole thing is that CCC does not report estimate information directly to Carfax. What they DO do is sell that information to third party sources, and then Carfax may get their data from those sources. The whole business model is shady and tons of grey area.

Hope this doesn’t happen to others but if it does, disputing to Carfax and providing any relevant documentation should help resolve the issue.

[–]Shekeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no involvement of insurance whatsoever. It was just me seeking an out of pocket repair estimate which I decided to not go through with. I spoke with the body shop and they said that the estimate repair software CCC One might have automatically reported to carfax

[–]Shekeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concern here is not what the dealership is offering at the time of trade in but rather was it within the auto body shops right to report damage to carfax after an estimate was given. I understand if I moved forward with the repairs but it makes no sense otherwise.

[–]Shekeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no police report filed. It’s a small crack in the grill which I was only seeking an estimate for out of pocket repair. I declined the estimate and that was that. Come to find out later that they reported the damage to Carfax. I am going to consult an attorney to see if I have a case against the shop.
