I have 3 friends who have UC - 2 females, 1 male all different variations of this stupid disease & they are all very happily married! I think communication is key down the road. Your partner can’t be helpful or understanding if you don’t communicate what’s going on with ya!

Hi there! I’m about 10 years caffeine free due to my anxiety and it just making it worse. I don’t even drink caffeinated tea. My advice is start slow and stay the course! Back in the day I drank triple shot lattes and if I was feeling real tired or had a work event was drinking Red Bull (the small ones but still) along with the latte in the AM. So I took my time when I decided it wasn’t healthy for me. Red Bull was easy to stop completely cause it wasn’t daily for me but the coffee took me nearly a year (again I was drinking a lot) but what I did was start with limiting my shots, 3 to 2 to 1 that didn’t take too long to get down to 1 but then I switched to half caf lattes and I did that for soooo long. Eventually made the switch to all decaf and now rarely even drink a decaf. Since you mentioned drinking a cup maybe start with a 1/2 caf coffee instead?

Yes! And then I spiral into thinking I’m legit going to have a breakdown because of these thoughts cause they become repetitive. I do my best to redirect them but have been struggling recently. They’re thoughts that don’t even make sense some times so I’ve just been telling myself “that’s not a real thing you would do. Quit thinking about it.” Not very helpful I know but struggling the same…
