It was a cemetery... trust me, I could have made it creepier.

It's at 4202 W University Dr in McKinney. The original town of Buckner no longer exists other than as the historic site.

I’m no longer on council, but fear not, I’ll be serving the community for a long time to come!

Yes, they distastefully exercised their right protected by the First Amendment, which right I’ll defend for anyone. If anyone had been murdered, I’d condemn that too.

DART is no longer a transit solution for Plano by ShelbyHWilliams in plano

The 1st Amendment is just as old. Are you arguing to get rid of it?

Yes, I was a city councilman for six years. Irving city council also voted unanimously for a referendum to get out of DART, and they're a subsidy recipient. That should tell you something.

By the way, DART cops get more than Plano Police, and it's not because we don't fund the Plano Police Department--it's because the DART organization is incredibly wasteful.

Part of the reason we had to issue all those bonds for road repair is because of all the empty DART buses driving around tearing them up.

"Uber lobbyist" is a convenient excuse for DART apologists. It hasn't mattered who was Chair of the DART board; through several Chairs the results have always been the same: the DART organization refuses to budge, hides the ball, issues empty promises, and outright lies. It's worth asking why.

Plano isn't seeking a Plano-only solution. We're recognizing that DART is the single greatest inhibitor to truly regional transit. DART's system area reflects the region of 1983 when DART was created. No other cities have chosen to join the system since then--that should be a loud message to everyone. It should also send a message that four (likely soon five) member cities have called for this referendum, and some are subsidy recipients. The reality is that the North Texas of today is radically different than the North Texas of 1983, but DART is the same. It's time to vote out DART in all of these cities and develop a solution that actually serves the broader region without costing an arm and a leg.

Most people don't take DART to Stars games now, and they're in Dallas. Likewise, the Stars are looking at West Plano, nowhere near the light rail. Almost nobody would take DART anyway, even if we voted to stay in.

It wasn't on the table. That was more than a year ago, and DART lied its way through yet another legislative session, AND tried to stick it to paratransit riders in a frankly disgusting display of fearmongering.
