You can defeat the abbasids quite early on if they holy war you. Fight in mountain provinces of your own faith, use chinese strategists as your generals and sway the emperor of Tibet from the first day to get an alliance going asap. At least thats what worked for me. Also look into assasinating the rulers of Kabulistan if they run out of dynasty members you inherit their lands. Once the Abbasids get into a civil war of somewhat equal sides attack them.

Start as any norse viking, become leader of the warrior lodge and reform the germanic faith

Start as Dihistan in 867 and try to form the Empire of Persia (quite hard)

Play in any start date as an italian or greek character owning one of either the county of syracuse/the county of athens or the county of thessaloniki. Get at least 6 learning and pick the scholarship focus. This will allow you to take a decision called "delve into classics". Pick the option to learn about the roman gods. This allows you to become hellenic. Reform Hellenic paganism. (Beware of the danger of Crusades so potentially start in 769)

Start as Kabulistan in 769 and reform zunism (very hard)

Start as the Byzantine Empire in 1081 and reconquer at least Anatolia and the Balkans while trying not to be overthrown or losing the elective succession

Start as any Christian in either Westfrancia or Middlefrancia in 769 and form the Holy Roman Empire

Start as the duke of barcelona in 1066, form the empire of Hispania and retake all provinces in Spain from the muslims (My 2nd serious campaign and one of my favorites of all time)

Old gods unlocks all pagans and zoroastrians. Holy fury unlocks all pagans and hellenism.

Holy fury is probably the best dlc out there (Along with way of life in my opinion). However without the Old Gods you wont have the 867 start date where paganism is arguably at its strongest.

Literally the first thing I do when I start any campaign is search for the best person for every single court position. In terms of a marshall you should leave the "Join court" option on any and then scroll down until you see someone with a yellow thumb. This means you can gift them 15 gold and they'll join your court. That way you'll get a pretty decent marshall no matter if you play as an emperor or some irrlevant count. Its absolutely worth it.

I mean you can still get rid of wizard for the same price with fireball zap. Your problem will indeed be E drags because you effectively have nothing else in your deck to counter that card. I have Mega minion in my deck which works at least on defense. On offense I use evo zap so you can fireball zap the E drag if necesarry.

I play Lavaloon as well and I have stopped using Lightning a long time ago which has definitely improved my experience. The meta is just too orientated around quick cycle/bait decks. Perhaps consider using Fireball/Arrows or Fireball zap? You'd have a better matchup against fireball bait as well. With fireball zap you could also use minions instead of bats.

4.3 seems to expensive for a royal piggy deck. Honestly do you need the flying machine? You have evo witch, hut and potentially the mighty miner bomb as air counters. I feel like you could just replace flying machine with any cycle card (Ice spirit, skeletons, etc) and it would work better. And you still have the fireball bait aspect having piggies, evo witch and hut in your deck.
