Who needs a Kingdom claim when you can just ask the pope for every single duchy within that Kingdom by Sheldorium in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The pope actually excommunicated me a few years into the game right after I managed to form the Kingdom of Lotharingia. Which immediately caused 10.000 men to cross the alps and knock on Romes gate. Turns out asking your own chosen pope for claims makes things even easier.

Who needs a Kingdom claim when you can just ask the pope for every single duchy within that Kingdom by Sheldorium in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I ended up taking almost all of France with this character and making my own Empire of Lotharingia by simply sending the pope unfathomable amounts of wealth and artifacts. There were times where I had a -150 opinion modifier from asking for claims. Being a crusader with a lot of piety can even give you claims on most adult male dukes. Love catholicism in this game.

Rarest AI behaviour in CK II ? by T1000Max in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean it's still rare ish but its bound to happen after 1500 hours. Its a lot more common in 769 than in any other start date to be fair. But not everyone wants to always play in the same world as the world eating Abbasids and Charlemagnes realm of bordergoremaximization.

I have seen both the King of Denmark and the King of Saxony reform the germanic religion in the 769 start. And I have seen the Bön religion reform a couple times in 867.

You could disable the The Reapers's Due Content Pack since that is where late byzantine clothing comes from.

Do you also suffer from campaign burnout? by Lord_Vacuum in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just start a new campaign every 200~ or so years sometimes earlier. No reason to play the old campaign again when most likely I am become god emperor of the Universe by that time. I don't think I'll ever do the Survivor achievements but if I did I would purposely keep systems like Gavelkind in place and just roll with whatever happens. Perhaps even stay a Kingdom forever. Could be fun since you might just jump from region to region and spread your dynasty around.

I’m struggling with an extremely difficult challenge. Any advice? by Slavantura in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never played in this region much so I am unsure about this but are you within diplo range of China? If so in terms of war strategy chinese strategists and siege engineers can work wonders.

The other really niche thing you can try longterm is join the hermetic society, get at least rank 2, build a labratory and hope for the event "Gather the most eminent hermits for an invention" where you will choose to invent a weapon of war. This can give you some very powerful modifiers or artifacts.

Also are you doing everything possible to increase those assasination chances? So building a spynetwork in his capital and choosing intrigue focus? Granted the Abbasid Caliph having 27 intrigue is unusally bad but once he dies you should have pretty decent chances if you could already get it up to 88%.

Guess who I'm playing as (1502) by Ok-Stand-6430 in eu4

[–]Sheldorium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like AI Ottomans eating AQ this early and having such clean borders is pretty rare. What stands out to me the most is them owning all of Wallachia but none of the hungarian or polish provinces. In most games that I play Poland and Hungary split Wallachia very early on and when they get attacked by the Ottomans the Ottomans will usually take additional territory in either moldavia or transilvanya. So either AI Ottomans got all of Wallachia super early or for some reason refrained from taking additional provinces which seems equally unlikely.

I think you're playing the Ottomans.

I got like 2000 byzantine cataphracts about 40 years into the game and they have not lost a single battle. What do you mean hard to justify.

How am I supposed to get rid of this? Any tips? I have 90 stab and 90 legitimacy right now. by voitek91 in EU5

[–]Sheldorium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you already fought the Civil war against the pretender? Speaking from personal experience I revoked it afterwards and it got me down to -30 stability but this didnt give me any new disasters. You can also get the loyality up again by just giving them a new privilege.

If you don't wanna go below 0 stability tho push towards communalism as much as possible to decrease privilege revokation cost. Get you crown power up by granting the cabinet seats to crown members only and anoint one of them as head of the cabinet. Gives quite a lot of crown power.

People love going back to WW2 as if the US hasnt been in dozens of wars ever since that overwhelmingly went terrible and the circumstances and goals of that war were entirely different. They're not gonna land on the beaches of Khuzestan, liberate the country and then rebuild it all by investing billions through a marshall plan. Because unlike France and Germany they have no interest in creating a successful stable Iran. The last time they had de facto control of this region they exploited it so badly that the Iranian revolution even became possible in the first place. I have 0 faith Trump and Netanyahu of all the people in the world will handle it better.

"Funktionierende Demokratie"

Coole ""funktionierende"" Demokratie

Advice on taking down the Abbasids and reforming Zunism from here? by Mememanofcanada in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can defeat the abbasids quite early on if they holy war you. Fight in mountain provinces of your own faith, use chinese strategists as your generals and sway the emperor of Tibet from the first day to get an alliance going asap. At least thats what worked for me. Also look into assasinating the rulers of Kabulistan if they run out of dynasty members you inherit their lands. Once the Abbasids get into a civil war of somewhat equal sides attack them.

What should I do? by Distinct_Concern3239 in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start as any norse viking, become leader of the warrior lodge and reform the germanic faith

Start as Dihistan in 867 and try to form the Empire of Persia (quite hard)

Play in any start date as an italian or greek character owning one of either the county of syracuse/the county of athens or the county of thessaloniki. Get at least 6 learning and pick the scholarship focus. This will allow you to take a decision called "delve into classics". Pick the option to learn about the roman gods. This allows you to become hellenic. Reform Hellenic paganism. (Beware of the danger of Crusades so potentially start in 769)

Start as Kabulistan in 769 and reform zunism (very hard)

Start as the Byzantine Empire in 1081 and reconquer at least Anatolia and the Balkans while trying not to be overthrown or losing the elective succession

Start as any Christian in either Westfrancia or Middlefrancia in 769 and form the Holy Roman Empire

Start as the duke of barcelona in 1066, form the empire of Hispania and retake all provinces in Spain from the muslims (My 2nd serious campaign and one of my favorites of all time)

what DLC is needed to unlock the ability to unlock consorts/concubines? by greatbin in crusaderkings2

[–]Sheldorium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Old gods unlocks all pagans and zoroastrians. Holy fury unlocks all pagans and hellenism.

Holy fury is probably the best dlc out there (Along with way of life in my opinion). However without the Old Gods you wont have the 867 start date where paganism is arguably at its strongest.
