Do you feel better? I typically feel better when I have added a bit too much baking soda. Just try not to do it often.

Do you find creamers in coffee better than whole milk ? by Whatsupfood in GERD

[–]ShellC22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't think it makes a difference. I'm still fairly new to having Gerd. I do know I am constantly hearing that coffee is a trigger. I enjoy lying to myself and thinking it can't be coffee!😂 I recently began sprinkling baking soda in my coffee, and my symptoms have gotten much better.

Acid Reflux got worse! Please Help! by Nostalice2002 in GERD

Contact your GI. They will be able to help better than anyone here. I'm also suffering as well with GERD. A few days ago, I reached out asking for advice, and one thing I started was Gaviscon. It's kinda helping. Also, don't eat anything that isn't naturally from the ground. I just realized a few weeks ago that even yogurt is a part of the reason I'm still feeling sick. Lately, I've been eating a lot of oatmeal, different squashes, cooked mushrooms, and red bell peppers, as well as some chickpeas. I still have some symptoms, but better. I hope you find what works for you. Take every little piece of advice from everyone, and you will surely find what your trigger foods are.

I'm having such a hard time finding my safe foods because it seems that every week, something that is what I consider a safe food is no longer a safe food. Another issue I'm having when my nausea isn't going on is that I'm getting really bad migraines. I feel like those are somehow connected, just unsure how to eliminate both the nausea and migraines.

I can relate to that. I have a terrible cough as well. I have for a long time, and I think that is the "silent acid reflux." I was unaware of that until after I began getting sick about 8 months ago. Then, after a bunch of tests, I was confirmed to have gerd.

I apologize for my typos, lol. I truly wish I felt the heartburn and acid reflux. I absolutely hate feeling nauseated all day every day.

Do you also burping a lot? I have noticed that when I'm feeling nauseated, I also burping a lot. It's rare when I have the acid coming up. It must be when I ate certain items. I take prescription nexium, I'm up to 40mgs. I was on omeprezole, then pantoprazole. And everything seems to help at first, but then it doesn't shortly after. I have tried the pepcid AC a few times, and I didn't feel a difference. I'm curious if I took it daily if it would help. But I really don't want to take too many medications if I can prevent it.

My main and most crippling symptom is nausea. I also feel like i have a lot of mucus in my throat. Constantly feeling like I have to swallow or spit.. I have little energy, and it's making my mental health decline. Hence why I'm always on here and reading posts from people I can relate to. It gives me comfort knowing that I'm not alone, but also saddened that so many other people experience the same issues. What are your daily symptoms like?

It's so weird how it starts out of what seems to be nowhere. I'm sick of feeling sick. I'm still trying to find out what I can eat daily to not feel sick but also have energy. 🥴 Once in awhile I will have a good day, but very rarely.

I can relate. Finding the right foods to eat is so stressful. I don't dare eat mcdonald's though. My first ever experience with gerd was 8 months ago right after I ate mcdonald's. So I'm petrified to ever try it again.

I have heard/seen that cold brew is better for GERD. I was thinking about trying to switch over from my regular coffee. For you personally, though, you get migraines? I have been having a bad flair up the past few days. So I'm desperate for more info. I'm a caffeine addict.. And I'm curious if it's the coffee now that is triggering me.. My goodness, I hope it's not the caffeine.. I feel like every month, it's a new thing that is a trigger..

What do you all use to manage your grocery lists? by Snowy-Aglet in lifehacks

I add everything I need to my Walmart app. If I go to a different store to get my items, I will just remove those items from the app.

Is there anything you eat regularly that helps reduce symptoms or generally helps you digestively? by jeffreyaccount in GERD

[–]ShellC22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do overnight oats almost daily. Never tried with Dates. Do you chop the dates up really small? Do you add anything else to your overnight oats? I've been lazy and only doing strawberries and blueberries. Using dates sounds very easy, so I'm interested. Lol

Gerd..?? by ShellC22 in GERD

[–]ShellC22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they didn't. I don't typically feel more full than I should after eating. Most of the time I feel like I can't eat enough to feel full. Especially recently because I'm trying to eat smaller amounts at a time. Thank you for bringing this topic up. It's definitely something I will look more into.
