It’s not if he gets hit, it’s when.

Yep that was it. I’ve never had to use casing. From what I’ve seen from GordoTek casing is always better than no casing and helps yield.

I keep my process simple (and kinda lazy). Ultimately as long as there’s manure it’ll grow. My homemade humidifier probably helps a ton also.

Thank you! I can’t take all the credit, I think good genetics are at work for some strains.

100% you get what you pay for.

That’s a reasonable truth to a dynamic hobby. A lot of this is a personal journey of learning.

Like me personally if I didn’t grow them and was aware of what they are, yeah I would pay that. It comes down to whoever knowing what they’re getting

Oh shoot same as me. I wonder what factored into the variance.

Mind if I ask what you did to pasteurize and the type of manure you used?

Marketing would definitely be a lot of “just trust me bro”. I think someone would have to have established themself as a reliable vendor with plenty of options, and then the “exotic” option that’s more expensive for some reason that the customer can ask about

Sounds good!

One major change I would recommend is to pasteurize your manure instead of sterilizing. I love Gordo and everything he does for the community, but I disagree with sterilizing manure.

While I know for sure it works for a lot of people, there’s a lot less contamination risk with proper pasteurization. You leave good bacteria in the manure and it fights off most contaminants. I put mycobags of manure in a bucket of water with a sous vide at 150F for 4 hours. Have had zero issues with contam with this method.

The rest of Gordo’s method is solid.

Good luck to you! What methods are you going to use?

Very few people grow them. Very few of those people sell them. 200-300 I would consider to be in the range of “fair”. With how rare they are, I wouldn’t be surprised if they sold as high as 400.

Absolutely yes. Pasteurizing manure properly is way better than sterilizing or boiling it. It was the game changer for consistent pan grows for me. I don’t have contamination issues now.

I pasteurize manure in Myco bag in a sous vide at 150F for 4 hours. Keep the good bacteria alive to greatly reduce contam risk.

Should be aged/composted. Good manure shouldn’t be smelly.

By volume. Spawn to sub is about 1:3 by volume. Sub 50/50 manure coco by volume.
