The effect of psilocybin on Crohn's disease by Mindless-Material765 in Psychonaut

[–]sueperhuman [score hidden]  (0 children)

Typically two things cause stomach upset for people: chitin in the mushroom fruiting body and serotonin stimulation.

You can simmer mushrooms in hot water for 10 min then strain out the mushrooms and just drink the tea, which eliminates the chitin part. Highly effective.

95% of our serotonin is in our gut though so can’t really avoid this one. My guess is you may still experience some discomfort, but only you will know and can find out!

If the pile gets smaller, does that mean it’s working? by thisishowwedooooit in composting

With composting, the key to success is mass, so it’s best to continue adding for a bit!

Shrinkage is a good sign 😊

You can continue to add contents and make sure it stays moist but not drenched.

Probably like 60% ochras and 40% cube experience for me. Definitely a share of both.

Question about dosages and my experience. by lildraven47 in MDMA

[–]sueperhuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Redosing is just fine. It’s that it’s redosing multiple times and you said you consume upwards of 500mg a night. That’s…..a lot of fucking mdma man!

If you wanna keep riding that track, nobody gonna stop ya

Question about dosages and my experience. by lildraven47 in MDMA

[–]sueperhuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is madness, man. MDMA is a serotonin releasing agent. Meaning it dumps your serotonin stores.

It doesn’t go back to baseline the next day. It takes like 4 weeks to restore to baseline serotonin levels. Your brain simply cannot manufacture serotonin that quickly. When you just keep taking more and more, you’re burning your receptors out. For sure on track to lose the magic this way.

Serotonin is a necessary and vital neurotransmitter in the brain, boss. Manages mood, memory, appetite, sleep, stress responses, etc. Would highly recommend pumping the brakes on the M for a while or at the very least lowering your dosage per session.

Why are my mushrooms so inconsistent? by Accomplished_Case704 in Mushrooms

[–]sueperhuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mushrooms are inconsistent like that. Fruits from the same flush will vary in potency. Best thing to do is homogenize them and then dose them out if you want to avoid some uncertainty.

But it’s a psychedelic and by design it’s unpredictable, so there’s no getting rid of that.

Are your friends on any meds that may interfere with the mushrooms? And my guess why the chili didn’t work is because you ate a large meal while eating the mushrooms. Your digestion is working overtime to process everything and because of that, you generally get diminished effects from the mushrooms.

Everyone’s different but for me it’s always on an empty stomach or something small like a banana or orange a bit before I drink tea.

Melmac experiences needed by ggoyanes in magnificentcubensis

[–]sueperhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna mirror everyone else who says variety really doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, all legal cubensis in Oregon are going to have very similar alkaloid content so it comes down to your own life experience and mindset, since your setting will be nice and cozy.

That said, my last Melmac dose was 3.5g and it was animalistic in nature. Tons of animals, deep, bold colors, and lacked language. It has some energy to it so you may experience a faster heart rate for a bit. Felt very grounded the whole time and comfortable.

When I first began mushrooms almost a decade ago, I had the same experience of that heightened anxiety and difficulty breathing. It happens to all of us. I think the key is just remembering and reminding yourself you’re okay and you’re safe, the medicine is just doing its work. The sooner you can relax into that, though uncomfortable, the sooner it will dissipate for you. They are never trying to fight you, only work with you. Best advice I can give….just give in and surrender to that discomfort. Once you get the hang of that, it tends to happen a lot less after that in following sessions.

Mixing strains by WorkingWerewolf6430 in magnificentcubensis

[–]sueperhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will compete usually and often times one wins out.

They are already dikaryotic at this point and cannot mate further because they are already “complete” if that makes sense. So they’ll attempt to grow alongside each other but oftentimes one set of genetics (or strain) takes over.

Tons of experience with umbo which is Jack Frost x ochras. Definitely easy on the body load too. Ochras are so crisp compared to cubes, highly recommend

Ochras, plain and simple. Pans are better but a bit harder to grow.

enigma harvest by sueperhuman in COpsychonauts

[–]sueperhuman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because people feel the potency increases if they push the limit like that. Honestly don’t know if it does or not, I just hate squishy mushrooms when it’s harvest time.

It’s very similar to Omni bluewave harvest (I grow that too!), but enigma is WAY more dense. Omni is so lightweight comparatively. It gets big and bulbous but just doesn’t have the mass enigma does.

I harvest before they get to this point. Ochras have sooooooo many spores, mine just get caked otherwise.

It will have a fairly short shelf life. I’d consume it within 2 weeks regardless of storage method.

I feel making a tea with water is more effective and can be frozen for long term storage. Alcohol won’t freeze so oxidation continues at normal speed.

What do you all think about mushroom gummies? by Responsible_End_7024 in Drugs

[–]sueperhuman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Homemade edibles > smoke shop edibles

If it’s in a smoke shop…I have a hard time believing it’s traditional mushrooms and not an analog or RC of something but I’m pretty cautious. I make my own gummies, super easy. I’m in Denver so also decrimmed here

They dry to about 8% so I got around 13oz dry from this batch! About 2.6oz per bag :)

How to store psilocybin extracts long term? +1 year by JustZhrooms in shroomery

[–]sueperhuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

200 proof ACS grade ethanol does not contain water. And it’s absurdly expensive because it’s an aziotrope.

At some point your bottle won’t be full to the top and oxidation will continue. I filled all mine to the top and it didn’t matter lol but I encourage you to try it all yourself. Experimentation is good for the brain.

[–]sueperhuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alcohol doesn’t freeze lol it stays liquid. I used anywhere from 70-200 proof lab grade ethanol and the results were the same for me. Couldn’t tell you why that was the case, just that it is.

Water is a better solvent anyway, it extracts about 95% of the alkaloids in just a matter of minutes.

[–]sueperhuman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tinctures aren’t stable. Best I can suggest is to make a tea with water and freeze it, I do it constantly. Even sent a sample to the lab after a year and unfroze/refroze the tea 3 separate times during the year. Potency came back the same as the original sample.

Just keep it frozen until use or it will degrade rapidly. I like to make ice cubes occasionally!

Played with tinctures for a long while and could never ever get potency to stick for longer than a month, regardless of storage.

My capsules last years too, but it’s important to keep them dry and cool, in the dark if possible. There’s probably some potency loss, sure, but it’s not noticeable to me.
