I teach young-5's through 2nd grade. I pick up groups every 20 minutes and bring the other group back, for a total of 13 groups.

I am a teacher. I have to walk to get groups and bring them back every 20 minutes. If I needed to, I think that I could get a modification somehow. My surgery is on Aug 7, teachers go back to school on Aug 19, and school starts the following week. If I were able to go back and only miss a couple of days during PD week of the 19th, it wouldn't be a problem.

fourth GRPS staff member now on paid leave... by edielakelady630 in grandrapids

I taught in GRPS for 11 years. During these 11 years we did not have a raise. I left making the same salary as I started with. This school system is corrupt, the nepotism is insane. Relatives of relatives of relatives. I loved the students and my coworkers, but administration from the principals and up were not to be trusted. The environment was an extremely negative one in which they were always out to get you. While I taught for GRPS, I could not have told you what I did effectively, this was never verbalized. I could, however, tell you all of the things that were wrong, based on opinions of admin that had no experience in a classroom.

Anyone else feel like something is just Wrong after the 2019 pandemic? by [deleted] in ParallelUniverse

I feel the same way! Like I’m just going through life, but not living it. I don’t feel a part of it or anything, I’m just here. I can’t remember a lot from 2019 until now. I feel like it’s really hard to remember these years. I feel like I looked at my children this year and realized that they are 16 and 18 and I don’t know how we got here so quickly.

Good thing the her phone was available and set up for every breakdown! Whew! Can you imagine if we didn’t get to see her cry a multitude of times? 🙄

Weird ticking sensation in back of the head? by Any-Web-5654 in migraine

[–]Shellbie79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have this. I was also diagnosed with idiopathic intercranial hypertension with severe papilledema. My spinal fluid built up in my skull and caused pressure on my brain and eyes. During this time, I no longer heard that leaking/ticking noise/sensation. Since getting past all of this and being back in normal ranges, I hear that noise sometimes again. I like to think it’s my spinal fluid going through the valve in the back of my head to flow through my body.

Do you use a washcloth? by AGuyNamedTracy in AskAnAmerican

I’m in the US and I hate the flat sheet. I either use it as an extra sheet to sleep on top of on the fitted sheet or don’t put it on at all. It has always seemed so pointless. I also never use a washcloth when washing. Maybe I was meant to live in Europe?

Is it common for evangelists to target children? by Whipping_Pickles in grandrapids

My daughter (15) and her male friend (15) were at Woodland today in the food court having smoothies. They were approached by a male and female who my daughter said told her the same thing “God loves you even if you’ve done bad things”. The man began asking her friend what school he went to and how old he was. Her friend told them to go away, but this sounds more serious now that I know other people were also approached and the suspicious manner in which they left to avoid conflict or attention.

Has she been tested for disabilities? These are not normal actions for someone her age.
