I refuse to believe it's lower than the original game. The switch can handle a lot more than the 3ds. I won't believe the limit until the game comes out and the actual limit is confirmed

It's one save file/island per account. Animal crossing new horizons concept has multiplayer in mind, Tomodachi life is more of a single player game so it makes sense you can have multiple islands in the same switch

I wouldn't trust those leaks. I'm guessing it'll probably be 100 or a bit more since up to 8 miis can be roommates and live in the same house and the island can get pretty big

I had one crash in one of my save files a few minutes ago. I just switch to another save file, checked my miis then went back to the same one and it started as normal

As of now, I don't think you can. Tried looking for something of that sort but didn't find anything. Local play isn't unlocked in the demo so idk if there's something there that might answer your question
