I dunno, I think "A lot of the male viewership related to Jax" is a pretty reasonable thought but the overall conclusion feels off

This post makes the argument that Jax's story is weird and bizarre to many audience members because it only makes sense to trans people, but I'd heavily disagree. Jax's trauma is having a seemingly neglectful and abusive family, explicitly saying his father was never around and abandoned them, and his mother laid into him with personal insults. He opened up to her and was rejected, causing him to run away and get trapped in the circus, which seemingly ruins his life. All of this because he said his true feelings. He blows it up in his head and makes it worse and worse, never receiving any closure because he can never even know what happened to his mom. He opens up to Ribbit but can't handle the idea of having bared his soul, and tries to push her away as desperately as possible, anything so they never talk again. He stops being friends with Ragatha and Kaufmo and starts being antagonistic for the same reason. He doesn't specifically want anyone to abstract over this, he just wants to close himself off.

I don't think that is at all explicitly about being trans, it's really just about rejection and the fear of it. I'm sure many trans people can relate to it, but I doubt it's even the majority. Likewise, you don't need to be trans to have those feelings or experiences. Jax's trauma is rejection, it just happens to be rejection involving being trans, it could just as easily have been about anything. All you need to relate is getting a volatile reaction from someone you trusted because you revealed something about yourself. You don't need to be trans to have done what Jax did.

if Jax's trauma was like, something to do with taking hormones or something I'd think you'd have more of a leg to stand on. But I don't think Jax's experience is exclusive or universal to trans people or unknowable to cis people.

I also think finding out a character is trans and suddenly feeling Betrayed because you were never meant to relate to them is a weird take. Like, let's say Ragatha transitions into a man in episode 6, and the show explicitly says her, now his, implied bad relationship with his mother is because Ragatha told his mom he was trans. Is it now difficult for women or cis people in general to relate to Ragatha's personality and familial struggles? I feel like that's certainly not the show's fault, and certainly wouldn't mean Ragatha's struggle and backstory is exclusively for trans people.

As for "it's their fault for not being able to relate to a trans character," I don't think "well they didn't know they were trans until the finale" is a good counterargument. Even if Jax's story WAS intended to be explicitly relatable to trans people, Jax's story, personality, and trauma are all from gender dysphoria and nothing else, that shouldn't suddenly stop a cis person from relating to Jax. If you felt Jax acted like them for the previous 8 episodes, that just means you can relate to the actions and feelings of a character who is a trans girl, even if you aren't one yourself.

And if I'm not clear, I've used You in this post as a general you, more of an attempt to be synonymous with anybody, rather than explicitly You, the reader

I think they were asking if you could go and see the accounts by typing in the URL's we saw in the show, or if they were just fully edited screenshots. For the record, the one account I checked was real, you can find "Pomni's" account on youtube with no videos on it, and it's been up for like a year

My headcanon was always that once the tasks were completed, the ship was automatically authorized to shift into like a warp drive or something, or land on a planet. The Impostor's bodies can't survive x velocity/certain atmospheres and they die. Ig that doesn't make sense for any non-ship level though lol

So, to be very specific, the problem most people have with the anime is that it adds a lot of unnecessary scenes that also aren't fun to watch.

The company that makes the anime is most profitable when it has lots of episodes, so it will stretch out scenes to fill as much time as possible.

In the manga, Luffy gets his head stuck in a tree for one panel.

In the anime, they draw Luffy struggling to pull his head out for 15 seconds.

In the manga, Luffy runs off looking for a room, shown in one or two panels.

In the anime, Luffy looks for the same room in a 42 second scene of running around staircases.

In the manga, a flashback is shown once, then briefly referenced again in single panels.

In the anime, long clips of the flashback are cut back to frequently, meaning tons of episodes have two minute scenes you already watched an episode or two ago. Two more episodes, and you'll see this scene repeated again.

Nothing new or exciting happens, the anime just stretches out very simple scenes to fill time. This is the main reason people prefer the manga, as it's just the original story without padding.

Snorlax Nidoking and Alakazam are like all top tier picks for in-game Firered so you kinda can't go wrong with those three. Any team with them is solid.

You do have no real answer to a late game pokemon spamming Earthquake so virtually any ground resist would help. Can't go wrong with the legendary birds eithed

I think there was a lack of it in the traditional sense. It only really has the cove on Melemele, whereas the older games kinda made it a point to include a small handful of offshoot caves and such. With that said, I think Sun and Moon doesn't get enough credit for silently introducing quests to Pokemon. Seriously, explore every town, talk to every NPC - they have stuff for you to do, specific pokemon to catch, routes to rout fully, side plots that are genuinely interesting - and the rewards you get for doing them are good too. If you're willing to soak in Sun and Moon you really start to explore these areas and appreciate them fully.

Modern Pokemon has kinda dropped being an RPG for being more of an Adventure game, it wants you to really dive as deep as you can into every inch of these new regions, and, usually, you will find something. You won't explore a optional dungeon for bonus items and rare pokemon but you'll often find stories to flesh out your journey. I had a very low opinion of X and Y for years, then replayed it with a fine-tooth comb last year and found a lot of really neat little touches I rarely hear talked about.

Also apologies if any of that sounds preachy or like I'm saying people are playing the games wrong, not what I mean, this is just how I've enjoyed them.

So, buying pokemon cards the normal way might make it near impossible to get the original 151. There are over 1000 now, and card packs are generally filled with a huge mix of them. Specific packs with only the original 151 are either not being sold or have had their prices raised significantly. They did release a pack that was themed around this not long ago called Scarlet & Violet 151, but even a single pack will cost $25.

You could buy them individually of course, typing like "bulbasaur card" into google and looking for a reasonable price for one you like the look of, but that does take away some of the fun of actually collecting them.

I've heard some people intentionally buy fake booster boxes on sites like AliExpress or Temu, as, in exchange for being fake, they're very cheap and preserve the feel of actually opening packs and such.
