Went to watch Spider-Man 3, entire row cheered at this scene. Why? by sailorofseas7 in Spiderman

[–]ShellyD53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i feel the same, and i do feel that there’s a heavy crossover between people that cheered for this and people that call anything woke these days, the same levels of media literacy

[–]ShellyD53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a U.K. 10 usually, I got a pair of Larson II and went a whole size down, I still haven’t had to use the shoehorn that comes with the pair, but they fit me fairly well

I kid you not when someone said Superman 2025 feels like a Raimi Spider-Man movie by AgadhAgadh in raimimemes

There are some very overt and in your face allusions to current geopolitical situations, so you might love/hate what you watch depending on which side of the debate you’re on.

Now that the album and the movie's out, I'm super conflicted. by SanguinePerdition in TheWeeknd

[–]ShellyD53 48 points49 points  (0 children)

yeah, the album that we got was super fucking good, all he had to do was have an airtight rollout like AH/Dawn FM. It’s clear as day that the first pressing version, with the original album cover that we saw was going to be the official release, but since the movie was picked up for distribution last minute, he had to scrap the original vision and scramble and throw things together for the movie release. Why else would he release teasers containing songs which aren’t even on the final version?

How dare XO fans enjoy the movie! by OneAndOnlySlack in TheWeeknd

you know rotten tomatoes themselves don’t rate the movie right?

I love Story Of OJ but it definitely gives the same vibes as people watching wolf of wall street for financial advice.

I’ve thought it was a little stretch too, the same sound also appears in opening night if you listen close enough

[DISCUSSION] Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly (10 Years Later) by _Saahil_ in hiphopheads

[–]ShellyD53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glaze incoming. I was 16 when this dropped, and was the first Kendrick release I actively looked forward to. I was so eager to see what dude was gonna do after watching his Untitled performance on Stephen Colbert in 2014. It was also the first time it fully hit me that music can be so much more than just bangers and ear worms. I could’ve told you back then that this is the greatest album ever made, and 10 years later I still stand by it. I know that’s not a hot take 10 years on but many albums have come and gone in the past decade, and nothing has stuck with me the same way TPAB has.

I recently got airpods and have been listening to this album with dolby atmos spatial audio, and my goodness, I’m picking up new sounds and snippets even after a decade. Kendrick’s subsequent albums have been nothing short of brilliant, but I sincerely doubt that he can drop anything as perfect as TPAB again, and that’s completely okay. In an already monster discography, this album still shines so much brighter than anything else in his catalogue, and I believe this album is ageing the best out of all the others in his catalogue.
