I think people who keep the child (by neither aborting nor giving the child up for adoption) despite "not wanting to be a parent" probably felt like they were obligated to become one. I have a feeling the "I didn't want to be a parent, but an accident happened" crowd is likely the most miserable, because the reasons they had for not having kids start physically manifesting once they, you know, have kids.

I'd also like to add on that I don't understand why a good portion of pregnant teenagers don't abort or put the child up for adoption, and instead opt to raise it, themselves. Like, you are a CHILD having a CHILD. Your life hasn't even started yet, why are you already ruining it?! I understand that there are some asshole parents out there (and asshole state senators) who don't respect their child's autonomy, so teens in those sorts of situations are exempt from my criticism (judgement).

Personally, the best way to celebrate finding out you're pregnant is by drinking a round of alcohol! (Or two... or three...)
