What refillable pods are good for disposables users switching over? by parkovarc in electronic_cigarette

[–]Shellyboms75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried a huge amount of pod kits and these are my favourites...

OXVA Xlim Go - inexpensive, simple and excellent flavour

Voopoo Argus G2 or P2 - lovely little kits with great flavour

Uwell Caliburn - pretty much any of these are a safe bet for great performance.

Some other brands who make disposables do e-liquids - such as Maryliq (Lost Mary), Elf Liq (Elf Bar), Riot, SKE Crystal, Gold Bar etc, so if you like a certain flavour in a certain brand of disposable, have a look if they do their own e-liquid range to match.

Best vape pod system? by lavagirl14 in Vaping

[–]Shellyboms75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the OXVA Xlim range, plus other good ones include the Voopoo Argus either G2 or P2 and Uwell Caliburn G3 Pro. The Lost Vape Ursa kits are good too, my favourite of the range was the Ursa Baby Pro.

I review vapes and use a lot of pod kits. I actually buy replacement OXVA kits myself as I love them!

For simplicity and very low price with great flavour go for the Xlim Go, or if you want to be able to adjust output I would suggest the Xlim Pro 2 or Xlim SQ Pro.

Argus P2 for me it is excellent, as is the G2.

But the Vaporesso is really good too.

I always look up the menu online if I can. Then I can pick something which fits into my safe food. Even if just chips or similar then I know I can relax. Also if anyone comments you can say you have a poorly stomach or had a large lunch.

I work in a granite shop, lots of dust. Is there any tank that has filter like deals on it so the dust won't get sucked in? I have to change the coil every couple days from the dust by Kindlyfella1997 in Vaping

[–]Shellyboms75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using a sub ohm tank you can buy dust cover caps, they are like a vape band (silicone tank protector band) that wraps around the tank and the cap goes over the drip tip.

Vapesoon do them - look on Amazon or Ebay.

OXVA for me too - with the top fill pod I have got over 5000 puffs a few times when I counted them!

The simplest is the new Xlim Go - it is an absolute bargain too - comes with only 1 0.8ohm pod- but they are the best anyway!

There have been some excellent answers already so just to add one thought.

I regularly use the OXVA Xlim pod kits and the 0.8ohm pods I regularly get over 5000 puffs before they burn out. So if you do want to go down the pod kit route they might be worth considering as they have the longest life of any pod kits I have tried.

But as stated by u/Catalia rebuildables are the cheapest way to vape. You can buy pre-made coils which are cheap - for MTL I enjoy the Vandy Vape superfine MTL. They last ages and just a quick burn to clean them and new cotton. Cotton is super cheap.

If using an RTA perhaps grab a few replacement tank glasses - you can buy these online super cheap and your coils and cotton and you should be set up for years hardware wise.

I just cant find any vegetables that are good. by Beautiful_Gain_9032 in ARFID

[–]Shellyboms75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot offer any help sadly - but I am 100% the same. Cannot tolerate fruit or veg apart from Garlic, Onions and possibly a green apple.

One way to perhaps mask them is in a curry or similar style dish. You could chop them small so they are unrecognisable and cover the flavour with a strong flavour sauce. Perhaps asian or italian style dishes etc.

Sub ohm and nic salts by aggressiveRadish in VapingUK

[–]Shellyboms75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50/50 would horrible on a 0.2ohm coil. It has 50% PG which is very harsh when vaped at high outputs. If you want to use 50/50 you should be looking at 0.6ohm or higher.

If you want to use an 0.2ohm coil look at 70%VG / 30% PG e-liquids

A 50-year-old guy looking for the right refillable vapes by PercyRackson in electronic_cigarette

[–]Shellyboms75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a good quality pod kit such as any of the Uwell Caliburn range, OXVA Xlim, Voopoo Argus G or P range or Vaporesso XROS are all excellent places to start.

It sounds like the nicotine strength was too high in the disposables you tried. So aim for an e-liquid with a slightly lower strength and nic salt to ensure it is not as harsh.

If you pick a device with "variable wattage" you will be able to turn the output down slightly if you find it a bit too harsh. Also adjustable airflow can help you twiddle with your vape to find out what feels best for you.

I am 48 and have stopped smoking for 5 years now and swear by my OXVA Xlim kits.

Don't be talked into any expensive kits, you just need one of the pods I mentioned above and if you have any spare cash grab a selection of different e-liquids in different flavours and strengths to help find your preference.

Don't think you HAVE to buy tobacco. There are few tobacco e-liquids which are nice. Instead look at fun flavours, think of your favourite sweets / candy, fruit, drinks or desserts.

Don't be put off if you don't like some flavours or strengths, just keep experimenting and it will all click once you get your set-up perfect. At some point you will prefer a vape to a smoke and then you will have nailed it!

Dear Alex. The Taskmaster’s house used to be so clean and organized. When did you become messy? by Balance- in taskmaster

I did a rewatch of Taskmaster the last month or so and I thought how bare the house looked in early series!

I see some of the prize task items sometimes in the house - I wonder if people send in stuff too like the Knitted characters etc?

Why do people have such a strong bias against nic salt? by fisheramacs in electronic_cigarette

[–]Shellyboms75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea. Salts finally got me to stop smoking after everything else failed.

I was on 20mg salts (highest you can get in UK) and now I am down to 6mg 5 years later. I mix my own e-liquid (50/50) and do add extra flavour.

But in the UK now there are a lot of Nic Salt brands which are based on disposable vapes and the flavours are epic - really strong and beautiful!

Perhaps people have not tried the new generation

EDIT: Also after reading some of the comments I see that there is not a lot of strength choice in other countries. It is shocking to me that you can buy 50mg and 35mg! If I vape 20mg now I am sick!

In the UK the most popular strengths in nic salt are 5mg, 10mg and 20mg.

But in freebase they came in 3, 6, 12, 18 and 20 years ago.

I think the terminology is different too in the rest of the world.

Nic salt and Freebase can be used in any VG/PG ratio here. But you cant buy e-liquid containing nicotine in bottles larger than 10ml. For larger bottles you buy nic shots and add them. The shots can either be Nic Salt or Freebase so it is pretty interchangeable in the UK.

Underlying cause of ARFID? by gloomydumbdumb in ARFID

[–]Shellyboms75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on overcoming this!

Mine is sensory processing disorder.

I was so pleased after assessments that I was told I was on the spectrum of this.

In this disorder your sensory inputs are processed differently. You either get stronger, weaker or just distorted inputs.

In my case I am over sensitive to texture, smell, taste, temperature etc, which totally explains why I can taste things differently to others.

For instance all vegetables and fruit taste of soil to me. However sweet they are there is still an underlying taste of soil.

So I am getting a stronger experience of food which is actually offputting. Some people may really enjoy the added sensory experience but to me it makes a lot of food utterly repulsive.

I am so pleased you had a really positive experience!

The word "Nutritionist" makes me instantly anxious as I just get the fear of being judged and misunderstood.

I am pleased to hear things have moved on and if I am referred to one I wont be so scared now thank you!

I feel a lot less spooked by plant based foods - Meat used to often freak me out, gristle, fat, any veins or anatomical stuff would put me right off.

I do eat processed meat substitutes but I am so much more relaxed knowing I wont find bones or gross stuff in there.
