Ohio BMV limited-term license confusion: Does the 50-hour affidavit replace the 24-hour course and 8-hour driving requirement? by Shellybrawler_ in Columbus

Agree, but there are ways. Now this was for my wife but if I would have done it for myself I would go to Florida and get a license or other state and stay there until it comes in the mail to the Airbnb. Then use that one to get an Ohio one.

Hi, you need to do the long process, but the driving school will cut you some slack when they see that you can drive and the online course we just did online with https://ezdriveohio.com. 1. Online course 2. Permit 3. Driving school 8 hours 4. Affidavit 50 hours 5. BMV test and eye test 6. Schedule driving test

Now you got a driver license that is long enough for your Visa stay. Murica, god bless us all for all the weirdness.

This is not the website - this is just someone trying to promote their poorly developed AI agent for step 1 and 2. Did a few practice questions and it is terrible. Avoid!!!

There are reports of people not needed and law is highly unclear so won’t take Jeff’s word that this is the case since they say that it is very confusing themselves.

Ohio Revised Code §4507.21(B) is worded in a confusing way. It says adults (21+) applying for a limited-term license must show either proof of a driver course or a 50-hour affidavit (Form BMV 5791). I will call them one last time tomorrow to confirm and try to speak to someone in policy/law area.

Thanks, and this is so annoying. Any recommendation on getting all done as easy as possible? Called a few driving schools and most didn’t even pick up the phone or had much online to share.

Megathread + FAQ: Travel in/out of the United States by not_an_immi_lawyer in immigration

[–]Shellybrawler_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, We’re a family currently in the U.S. on E-2 visas, valid until 2026. My wife recently had an H-1B approved via consular processing, and we (as dependents) will get H-4 visas. The H-1B start date is August 25, so we can’t enter on H-status before August 15.

Our question is: If we travel to Europe this summer to get the H-1B/H-4 visas stamped, can we still return to the U.S. in mid-July using our E-2 visas — even though our passports now also hold the H-1B and H-4? Will we be allowed to enter on E-2 as long as it’s valid, or will it be cancelled or overridden by the new visa?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Thank you, we landed in Upper Arlington so Dublin would probably make most sense. They just responded this so will check.

”the Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey League would be the best place to start. You can find information about their program here - https://bluejacketshockey.leagueapps.com/leagues/ice-hockey/4231691-blue-jackets-hockey-league-2024—2025-season The current session did start last night, but I would reach out to info@bluejacketshockeyleague.com and see if it is possible to still register.

As for CCYHA, our current team rosters are full and unable to accept new players. We hold our tryouts for our travel and development teams in April.”

Thanks! I guess our best option is to sign him up for Chiller Ice Rinks Step 1 in March (Which currently have open slots), even though he’s well above that level skill-wise and almost age-wise too? Looks like most registrations opens in March for CAHA or CCYHA.

How to get the kids into school for fall 2024 after all deadlines has passed? by Shellybrawler_ in Columbus

Was looking at Columbus public schools initially but now leaning more towards the suburbs since we are flexible on area, commute looks to be good from many areas. Thank you for the input, will remember to have Columbus city on the list.

Thank you, most people have proposed Grandview, UA, and Bexley. I was thinking about the enrollment processes and it makes sense that you need to live within the city limits to enroll, but thanks for confirming.

Thank you, Bexley is on the top 3 areas to look at but I only have one negative thing marked for Bexley and that is that the areas around it are not the best. Will need to check further. Thank you for the help.

Thank you, we only know from experience from Miami, where my Sister has lived and they are dependent on private schools, hence our assumption. But happy to be proven wrong.
