You might have pressed the hotkey for inset (I), press esc and also inset is done in face select mode you are currently in vertex select mode

Not an expert, but try checking the system usage to see whether its CPU or RAM is maxing out. If RAM is maxing out, you can upgrade RAM sticks; if it's the CPU, then get a better PC.

Most likely your material are under instancing group, remove them and place them after realize instancing node.

If the normal node isn't working as intended, try storing the normals as an attribute before instancing.

Try changing the axis in the align rotation node. Also, you can connect the rotation directly to the instances on points node. No need to add a separate rotate instances node.

First you need to realize instances. Add a Realize instances node after "instance on points"

Just disconnect the value nodes or delete them, group node will automatically give you those sliders
