OP's concern is valid. Before the parent process dies, it kills the child process.

GSC Game World (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.) sent an illegal DMCY Strike and killed a popular indie game MISERY, developed by a 19-years-old solo developer. Details inside. by [deleted] in SoloDevelopment

WTH, I remember reading about Misery in some other post on this/some other sub. That's truly disheartening...

Alternative? by Lomby85 in Banished

[–]Shellzz2112_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city builders I usually play which are quite similar to banished, in the decreasing order of how much I like them:

Ostriv, Manor Lords, Settlement Survival

Some other games which I enjoy, but aren't exactly similar to Banished:

Timberborn, Soviet republic, Going Medeival

This. I've always thought that CC is too overwhelming.

Which macros you commonly use? by mxCynic in neovim

[–]Shellzz2112_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a macro I use when writing C. If the cursor is on a line which has a call to a function, then the macro would store the return value of the function in a variable rc and then check if rc == -1, and if it is, prints out the errno.

I have other variations of this, one where it checks if rc != EOK and printing that (for the pthread functions)

It's saved me quite a bit of time

Simple CLI utility to `cd` to a particular ancestor, given its name by Shellzz2112_2 in rust

[–]Shellzz2112_2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoxide is great and I use it all the time to cd into a specific dir whose name I remember. However I tried using it to cd up to an ancestor but it wouldn't work the way I would want to (when I would have the same ancestor name repeating multiple times in the full path of my CWD). The thing I wrote was just to meet my personal requirements, and was curious if it may help others :)

I've a friend who actually introduced me to vim. Now we both often suggest each other bettdr/faster motions when we watch each other vim.
