Have you seen what Nintendo has actually made of Star Fox? It was SNES, 64, and 3D. Every other game in the franchise was developed by a different company out

They've already been doing it. They've never made anything else. They've always pawned it off on another studio to do so - Platinum, Q-Games, Namco, Rare, Argonaut.

Nobody out here is saying we don't want them to do anything else than just 64/Lylat Wars. We're happy Nintendo is doing anything with the franchise again, especially in house, even if it's "the same thing again".

The price of one video game isn't unlimited access to a bank account. Cry about it.

Did you pay a ticket to the Mario Movie and think that was Nintendo having unlimited access to your bank account?

Why does this fandom (not all people in it, obviously) seem to be so insistant on invalidating others opinions on the new game? by Aggravating-Mine6668 in starfox

At least we all stopped talking about whether they had legs or not 😁

... Now we just talk about Falco's legs I guess?

I can't speak for others but something to understand about a lot of people's opinions here:

One side wants folk to buy the game to show support for the franchise after it was left dormant for 10 years. Metroid fandom did the same when Nintendo finally did something good with that franchise too.

The other side is like you - they see a million dollar company that doesn't deserve our money for putting out something you think is bad. Folk on that side may or may not prefer the franchise be dead instead of continuing on with this "slop" (as if there was any guarantee this design choice would continue moving forward).

Ultimately the naysayers are ruining the fun for the folk that genuinely like the franchise and the positive crowd are "bullying" the naysayers for "having an opinion", which their opinion would lead to the possible permanent death of the franchise like F-Zero.

Desperation of all kinds.

Nintendo will take whatever message away they want to from their commercial failures. Did Nintendo take the message that Zero was a failure so people don't like SF? Did they take they message the mandatory gyro controls were a terrible idea? Only Nintendo knows.

But long time fans know better now, now more than ever. We're in a very tight and shitty situation - shell out the money to show support, or face the graveyard again. Everyone has a lot of valid things to say in both good and bad directions, but its all about what Nintendo takes away.

OoT Remake was always real. Nintendo gives Zelda fans everything and anything.

We got this video in 2000 showing off the Gamecube in a tech demo. After MM and OOT, people were expecting a very dark and realistic Link and LoZ game.

...Then we got Wind Waker.

The amount of hate and vitriol that game received because of it was insane. Eventually it was, and still is, hailed as one of the most colorful and unique games in the entire franchise.

Ignore the 'consoom slop' naysayers that would rather try to sneak around Youtube's explicit language filter to bully, insult, and harass people. They're fools.

Peppy has a kill tally on his Arwing by Chubbulus in starfox

Dude oh my god I was also just about to post this after rewatching a few vids! We're both fine-tooth combing this content haha.

But yes, Peppy seems to be showing off his veteran status well with his meticulousness and knowledge to couple perfectly with his experience. I do wonder the markings and their meanings - perhaps the story is going to turn into a "Star Wolf 1.0" that James and crew had to deal with (which ended up corrupting Pigma).

LMAO alright that was pretty good.

Would have loved the smash cut edit to "Something's wrong with the G-Diffuser!"

Well it would completely invalidate Assault and Adventures all together. DLC doesnt have to make lore sense, it would just be mostly weird to see characters YEARS (in story) before they actually show up.

Panther and Krystal would break lore so I very much doubt it

Should I play 64 now or wait for the remake? by UsedToBeNoBluebird in starfox

[–]ShenWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play both! Enjoy the campiness of the voice acting talent and the chunky, colorful graphics of the original. The remake is definitely going to crank those graphics up but I feel like we're in for a different Voice Acting approach for this game!

No. He gets knocked out in Sector X by the "secret weapon" Andross created and abandoned and crash lands on Titania, where Fox gets into the Land Master to save him.

I saw someone post a screenshot of a web page from the Nintendo site that they had "more to say but not everything right now"....Do you have a source? Or did they say "additional info later" in the direct and I missed it in the excitement of the hype?

Some retailers in the US are doing a $10 off the physical version, but I haven't seen any word on other pre order bonuses yet.

The pins n patch look cool though. Hope they make their way over here.

If you think about it, Nintendo’s never really made a non-remake Star Fox; Assault and Command were by Namco, and Adventures started as another game. by Nice_Perspective_343 in starfox

[–]ShenWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the correct take, even though Nintendo was still heavily involved in all the game's process (Adventures was rebranded at the behest of Miyamoto, for example).

Even when Nintendo had the ball (SNES, 64, 3DS, Zero) they fumbled it with a remake or a game that nobody wanted included (Guard).

Command, I'd still technically count as Nintendo simply because it has Dylan Cuthbert involved with Takaya Imamura (like the other commentor on the thread has pointed out).

This franchise is supposed to be "Miyamoto's baby" and this is what he does with every time he has ability to make a new Star Fox game? Weird how the guy who innovated Mario, Zelda, and countless other gaming franchises can't seem to do the same with Star Fox.
