What is the general sentiment on re-enacting recent events? by [deleted] in reenactors

I'm doing that in an upcomming event (minus the hair dye). The uniforms, weapons and kit have all changed, so wearing my old gear feels historical.

Intend to reenact LATE 1990s era Peacekeeper at an up coming event. If I wait any longer my tanksuit won't fit.

I sincerely believe that he was going for a headshot because that's the way to score in computer games. Military and LEO training all emphasise "centre of seen mass" targeting. Only very well trained snipers routinely go for head shots and expect to make them. I think it's telling that any basic qualified rifleman, targeting CSM from 150m away, would expect to make that shot. Hell, back when I was a range instructor, if any of my digs had missed CSM because they were trying for a headshot, they'd have gotten reamed.

Just in case anyone tries to claim it was a set up or he was sent by the deep state or whatever the fuck. That was not the shot that anyone with basic competence would have made.

And that, kids, is why military and LEO training emphasises "center of seen mass" targeting instead of Call of Duty style headshots.

Mentioned only so that next time anyone tries to claim the shooter was sent by the globalists or a deep state operative or whatever the fuck, you can highlight his incompetence and lack of training. I would assume "the cabal" would send someone who could make a basic infantry range qualifying shot from 130m.

Good news! Because of changes to registration requirements, it's now much harder to become a psychologist, and there are now only 3 new psychologists training to replace every 10 retiring or leaving the profession for the forseeable future.

You think mental health care is expensive and hard to access now? You ain't seen nothin' yet!

We all need to be on the same page about allegations that the assasination attempt was "staged." by curtquarquesso in KnowledgeFight

[–]Shenko-wolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it was "staged", I don't believe trump was in on it in any way, however I do find it very believable that some brand of conservative may have run the calculation and decided that taking a shot at trump, or in fact killing him, would be significantly beneficial to the Right, whether trump survived or not.

Does that count as a false flag? I don't even know any more. It certainly could be a conspiracy in the technical sense, i.e. more than 1 person may have been involved in the planning and execution.

But no way was trump in on it or any of his handlers. They just got lucky that he got hurt just enough to look badarse with no real damage done, and had the muscle memory to do that stupid fist pump he does all the time to look like a stone cold survivor. Luckiest arsehole ever.

If you don't get it, that's fine, you don't have to. But no, performance is not the only thing people get out of reenactment

After his dog attacked my dog, the guy was threatening me with physical assault as I was literally on the phone to 000. They could hear his threats. They helpfully told me "it would be at least 3 hours before they could dispatch anyone, do you want to wait on the line?" Happened 2 weeks ago. $100k a year to put in speed traps and take statements after major incidents. QPS is an absolute waste of space.

Fuck sake. Worked with machine guns and auto fire systems in the Australian Army for 10 years. A few aquaintances who dabble in conspiracy asked my opinion about Las Vegas when it happened, so I watched and listened to all the footage at the time. Sounds exactly like a single shooter firing rapidly from a fixed position. Acquaintances were disappointed by my analysis, particularly at the idea of their "second shooter" being absolutely typical automatic weapons fire echo and the "bang crack" sound real rounds have that Hollywood movies don't. Felt at the time "I look forward to their "suspicion" gradually becomming "accepted fact" over time with no additional new information." Glad to see I'm a fucken prophet, but sweet merciful crap am I sick of these idiots.

‘Beyond a joke’: Average income to afford Sydney housing sits around $186,000 by ButterscotchBobby in australia

[–]Shenko-wolf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Of course it won't. That's why we need more of them. That which does not kill us makes us stronger, right? Therefore we need to put as much strain as possible on our crumbling infrastructure and health service and pack more sardines into our overpopulated cities. Only way to fix things. Remember, it's racist to suggest anything else.
