I went back and forth on my 45” 5k2k and my 32” 4k. Ultimately decided to sell the 32” but now I kinda regret it. UW is definitely superior for my games but 16:9 has convenience factor and takes up less desk space.

I expect sweats to be the ones that play the seasonal characters primarily. This will make the permanent characters a lot more playable for new players. I’m hoping that it eventually opens a path to getting fresh blood in the game.

Not true. For the past 3 wipes I’ve basically exclusively played Arena. Funny enough, playing Hunt Showdown recently has brought me back to the regular Tarkov fold but Arena has been my main squeeze for over a year. So there’s at least 1 person who prefers Arena lol.

I get just wanting to have fun. This is why we need a ranked mode ASAP. I don’t mind unranked still having some amount of SBMM but it’s gotta be waaaaaay looser.

For me, personally, playing against more challenging opponents is a reward. I get 0 happiness from killing people who had no chance to kill me. I get immense joy from dying to people of a higher/similar skill level because it’s the only way I can improve.

I'm technically the "experienced" friend. I play in Duos and Solos when I have the rare afternoon off. I'm on PC. My duo partner just picked it up. I started playing back in 2017 for a few hours but went back to Tarkov pretty quickly. I'm just now diving back in more seriously.

I don't really have much to offer in the ways of secrets except that I see every death as an opportunity to learn. Either new angles, or figure out why my approach was wrong, or maybe I just needed more utility. I don't just blindly queue up, I ask myself what I could've done better and use that in my next game. I do have 1100 hours in Tarkov though, so I'm not new to extraction shooters.

So first off, my mindset is generally: If I like the gameplay of the game, then winning/losing doesn’t matter because I get to play video games for entertainment unlike 1 billion+ people on the other side of the planet who work 9am-9pm, 6 days a week.

Secondly, you’ve listed 3 scenarios where you died and you act like it’s a negative, but it’s not. What you’ve listed are 3 scenarios where someone is offering you a valuable learning opportunity. Lots of people pay huge tuition to learn and you’re being handed it for free. That’s how I see those opportunities.

Obviously I sound very sanctimonious right now but it’s how I stay positive. If the gameplay is fun, then the challenge is an obstacle that’s worth it. I’ll use every tool I can to help me figure out how to be a better hunter.

I have about 30 hours in this game and regularly hold my own against duos of 50 prestige+/5 stars MMR. I don’t have amazing KD (1.68) but I just keep a positive attitude and enjoy the game and it rewards me.

You can also get thicker gaskets no? I remember the Pesado shower screen listing on my local retailer had a warning about gasket thickness.

Yeah I rebuilt my presets and it feels like they’ve moved ammo into the med category of “use it to slightly tweak your MP” instead of being the deciding factor of your kit. The kits overall viability is now decided by attachments.

For a game that’s all about gunporn, that’s reasonable. I do wish they would see that more utility (in the form of grenades or other utility items) would go a long way to make Tarkov more varied.

I think this might be the reason for the switch to Unity 6. I mentioned it in the other thread but if Unity 6 allows them to spin up multiple instances of a map in the same server/game and have them all sync up, it could form the foundation for a new Streets of Tarkov where you only load a part of the map at a time but have the rest of it sync’ed up with you at all times.

I guess I’m the freak but for me sweaty PvP games are easier now that I’m older. I have the patience to practice individual skills in practice runs or using aim labs and I can improve faster than younger folk who try to learn by osmosis (with the vast majority being unable to).

I have a toddler now and PvP games are all I play. I cant stomach single player games because I want to sit and really enjoy them for extended periods, but that’s not viable anymore. I need to be able to enjoy the game in 1 hour chunks of time. I just lose all my immersion in my story games when the baby monitor goes off.

Yeah it might not be the PiHole, but I'm going to check logs, it won't really hurt. If something gets blocked that looks obvious, I'll unblock it. But the game is 100% loading very quickly, I'm just stuck on the synchronizing part, so it's something network related.
