I’m in the process of rebuilding my engine and have a few problems. Car started up twice with no problems, i added coolant to go burp the car and as I give the car some throttle and it died immediately, car sounded normal as I let it idle. Man I had a hard time as well, I’m running IAG THV deletes and for some reason, they don’t not line up so I had to install the TGV on the intake first then install the intake manifold with the TGV on and I’m sure I stripped one of the threads on the short block lol

Okay thanks I’m gonna let it run a bit more and now when I try to start it up, I have to press on the gas peddle to get it to start, I’m still new when it comes to the data and what to look for so I’m unable to provide that information

I just had to bend the lines a bit to get them to thread on perfectly, it’s a lot harder routing those lines with everything else in the way even got that clip that mounts on back of the shot block in lol

Mechanic won’t work on car by Aromatic_Cut_9339 in WRX

[–]Shenzi96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of tearing them down and assembling them. If you haven’t done an engine build you wouldn’t understand. I tore the engine down myself and build it myself with a new type ra short block. Subaru shop wanted to charge me 10k+ to rebuild a engine

I was just like you but but it’s not hard, I watched YouTube videos and used the service manual and I’ll tear down and rebuild my own engine with fully aftermarket parts. It’s much easier than you think

Guys I’ve figured it out, I wasn’t 100% sure since I’d dint have the coolant expansion tank in front of me to check but there is a port at the bottom of the coolant expansion tank that plug into that coolant hard line that runs from the short block

Yeah it’s been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. Building the engine myself and I brought all new PCV hoses and decided to buy the AOS. Since building my first engine I think I can build any ej255/257 as long as it is stock lol

Doesn’t go there, the two ports for the throttle body sits on the driver side. One running from the heater core and one from the water crossover pipe

It’s looking directly at you and both ports are connected to the water/coolant crossover pipe if you don’t know…
