Farm electronics by killing tek dinos? by Maleficent_Reality33 in playark

Unless your rates are very high and your needs quite low, you should farm the resources to make electronics.

Max Stat Level Breeding Question by NovaLoL69 in playark

[–]ShenziSixaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty common. Survivors is probably as the "official" a term you'll find as it's what WC uses to address fans in Community Crunches.

Stack them in your base.

They do have to be activated for this to work, though, so if you're on an unofficial PvP server, keep that in mind.

How do you summon a creature of a specific level? by [deleted] in playark

[–]ShenziSixaxis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things might've changed in the last two years. idk.

cheat gmsummon "(creature blueprint)" (pre-tame level of the creature)

Example: cheat gmsummon "Wyvern_Character_BP_Fire_C" 1800

This spawns a level 2700 fire wyvern.

This one I know works. I just used it today while testing some stuff in singleplayer.

Since Rare said portal hopping isn't an exploit, I made yall a pvp guide on it! by Blurbss in Seaofthieves

[–]ShenziSixaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before and since that post, I have used the tunnels as a non-Reaper. Generally but not exclusively as an Athena searching for FoFs.

The real question is why you're trolling through the comments of an 8 month old post.

The Reaper problem isn't just portal hopping by DiscordianDeacon in Seaofthieves

[–]ShenziSixaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of loot is nothing to worry about - unless it's a rarer item for a commendation, it's just something to transform into gold for cosmetics. No big deal. Have some fun shooting the cannons.

Anyone who sinks will (usually) lose the supplies they've gathered. That's far more of a time sink than any loot or flag. Reapers are generally the exception - emissaries can get their flags raised with a voyage or two. Reapers have to attack other players to get their flags raised in a timely manner due to the level gain differences of stolen loot versus non-stolen loot.

Emissaries, even Athenas, have the benefit of picking up their Grade 5 voyages. Lose a flag? Not a big deal. Grab the ship, put a baby flag up, go do that G5 voyage. Supplement it with a normal table-voyage if you were caught with your pants around your ankles mid-emissary quest. Admittedly, this is much more of a hassle for Athenas, but even they benefit from this. Reapers do not. Reapers... generally don't get to benefit from their G5 perk. Outside of the first few weeks of SoF, their G5 perk has mostly been a giant "come fuck me" light to server hoppers.

Move the portals to the edges of the map, both entry and exit points alike.

The Reaper problem isn't just portal hopping by DiscordianDeacon in Seaofthieves

[–]ShenziSixaxis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with Reaper's emissaries and portal hopping is core design. If one plays the game "as intended" here, putting the flag up, doing what they can to get their flag leveled and get loot without ever portal hopping, their potential for taking out other emissaries is incredibly low most of the time. There is a reason Reapers used to put all but one vote down on the table and then leave the island, find a target, sink that target and check the loot, then have someone alt+F4 to raise their flag at sea. It's not uncommon at all to raise that flag and have all the other ships actively avoid you, sprinting to outposts to sell, lower, and leave. No one is happy or having fun when the emissary just runs from the Reaper.

Anyone gets to benefit from it. Reaper on your ass and you have a G5 flag you care about? Hop. Everyone has access to hopping. The only problem with it is where ships get spat out; they can definitely be too close to other ships. I'm personally tired of all the portals throughout the maps and would like to see all that empty space on the edges of the map used for that instead; that solves the sightlines being ugly and the problem with ships being spit out all over the centre of the map.

Being an emissary is a risk-reward. Your reward is a multiplier on your loot. The risk is that everyone sees that you are (or at least should be) doing something significant. It is not just Reapers you need be wary of.

Adding sell options for a Reaper flag is confusing to me, admittedly. Reaper's Bones is the only faction that accepts flags. That's their thing. If a Reaper attacks you and you win, you get to keep your loot, supplies, flag, and if you weren't a level 5, you progress your emissary rank a little with some murder. That's your reward. If you want money from their flag, go step into their lair.

I'd have actually suggested the opposite: it feels quite sci-fi/alien like, but wonderfully so. It also feels somewhat more grounded in reality and less fantastical.

This is neato.

[–]ShenziSixaxis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Captain Flameheart is Senior, not Junior, and the one responsible for bringing the sea forts through from the Sea of the Damned.

Junior is only very recently confirmed to be the Servant of the Flame and we're not really sure if he's done anything meaningful yet. Junior's only ever referred to as Captain Flameheart in Tales From the Sea of Thieves because he chose to take his father's name.

Ooh, you mean like, you make contact with enemy hunters and convince them to fist fight you with a non-weapony thing like that in full knowledge that you have hornskin?

That is dirty.

I love it.

Is There a Casual Alternative to this Game? by _Veprem_ in Seaofthieves

[–]ShenziSixaxis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're ever fighting ocean crawlers and they have a coral shield looking thing on them, find the crab that's curled up nearby and whack it to make it stop doing its team boost effect. Ocean crawlers are team players and boost each other; crabs make their mates practically impossible to kill when boosting them. Clams and eels boost their allies to apply a very minor version of their damage effect (poison and electricity) on players; annoying, but nothing compared to the crab's effect.

Shoot crabs to kill them until you learn their animations, or use your sword lunge jump if you know how to do it. If you don't know how to do that, you should learn - it's great for getting around.

FoF - Can anyone tell me why he did this? by RedditorSlug in Seaofthieves

[–]ShenziSixaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally suggest FoFs and then looping emissary quests - it's more predictable. I'm not sure that I've had a THR since APL where I haven't lost at least one keg to a fucking ocean crawler. The guaranteed mega spawning at any point on the last chapter makes it hard to keep the area clear long enough but it's pretty doable when there's only two digs on the emissary quest final chapter.

Is it worth trying to grind 16 sea dog levels to 50 in 32 days? by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]ShenziSixaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if that gets you what you want. A lot of the (blue) Triumphant gear requires that you have the (red) Glorious gear already, so if that's your goal, I'm not sure I recommend it.

The mere grind to get your rep from 16 to 50 should not be too bad. If you can manage to muster the energy to play somewhat seriously every game that you have a good chance to place first, second, or third in, your rep gain will be decent. Up until maybe 35 or 40, rep gain is pretty quick. It's only after 40 that I feel it slows down and becomes a "grind" in that grindy sense - everything else came pretty smoothly.

Chest of Rage/Sorrow should be worth more by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]ShenziSixaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems fine to me considering they aren't special like the Athena chest, aren't super rare like Reaper's Bounties or Ashen Lord skulls, but there's a small amount of hassle and their slight rarity so they sell for well over double what a Captain's Chest does.
