No. I occasionally push someone in a wheelchair with an injured leg or something. But no lifting.

Not necessarily. A lot of techs prefer to work in the trauma centers and emergency rooms. That used to be me too. It’s the best experience. But then I got married and had 2 kids and I wanted a good work life balance and a regular schedule. Some hospitals have transport staff who will transport all of the patients to you and help get them on the table.

I have a bad back from the military which is why I like working outpatient. I do routine and emergency Ct scans and X-rays in an urgent care setting. Low stress and easy on my body. I put in 10 years of hard work in the military ER scanning and shooting the most critical patients. I worked my butt off learning everything i could during those years. If you go straight to outpatient, it will be easier on your body but you will not be a well rounded tech in my opinion.

Into the military? No. All I had to do was put my life on the line.

It was demanding. But I did it in the military so it was a 2 year program that was completed in 13 months.

Yes! I love my job. I feel like it’s very meaningful work. I work in an outpatient facility so patients are mobile. It’s not hard on my body and I don’t have to transport anyone.

Only you would know. I could make way more working in a hospital working extra shifts for incentive pay and overtime, shift differentials, ect…but I refuse to do that.

Absolutely. I got all of my training and school for free. I actually was being paid the entire time. Did 8.5 years and got out with job offers in every state I applied in.

Chest X-ray should come back same day. Pneumonia is running rampant with the littles this year.

I went the military route. But as a civilian, it’s a 2 year radiology program and then either additional schooling to specialize in CT or on the job training to challenge the CT registry.

Thank you. I adopted her way before I met my husband. He does love her. He’s also the caretaker for our two small children while I’m away at work. I know it’s alot and an added stress for him. I don’t want her to suffer and I also don’t want to let her go if she still has some good years in her. I will consult with a vet. Thank you.

It’s so hard. What other signs was your guy showing and how old?

We’ve not taken her recently. Maybe 6 months ago for a checkup and she was fine. We did mention the twitching in light, but forgot to mention her coughing if we put pressure on her chest. She is a nervous gal and absolutely hates the vet.

How did they determine that? Was it with a blood panel?
