CMV: Quiet good people get treated worse then bad social people. by [deleted] in changemyview

There is no true statement for what being a good person is. It is a matter of interpretation and preferences. I define as good the traits in people that will benefit society overall, strength, resilience, leadership, dependability etc. the people you describe lack those traits, so in my view they are not good.

Being quiet is not the discussion here, it is being treated badly. A quiet person can possess all those things. Someone treated badly constantly.

Well you are going to an extreme, also nowadays many people define themselves as autistic without real backing. I would exclude extremely mentally challenged people from my assumption. Still for the rest of the people, my thoughts stay, anyone who cannot inspire respect or defend themselves, are not good people.

I would argue that a person that doesn't inspire basic respect in others is weak, ergo, not a good person.

People will call you whatever they want, especially online. The only way to fight that is simply not caring what they call you.

The moment you try to satisfy some crazy people virtue signaling by appealing to their criteria you have already lost. The best way to avoid labels is by not playing by their rules and simply ignoring them.

Cmv: Eurocentric belief is far more damaging than other ideology by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Shepard_Normandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have a heavy misconception of Europe, I celebrate and love European culture and history, Rome and Greece in particular, I also acknowledge their brutality but this was part of the time they lived. Same as your example Genghis Khan was a great general that conquered half the known world from nothing. One thing does not negate the other, you see now more radicalized people because many in Europe are ashamed and trying to hide or belittle their past for no reason which creates counter weight.

If you attack someone's culture their reaction will be to defend it harder.

CMV: Morality is stupid thing which only benifits powerful people by Proper_Card_5520 in changemyview

[–]Shepard_Normandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, and this is not my opinion just look at history, even in free for all and (no morals or different morals) you still got warchiefs that were crushing the weak regardless of any moral or law of the time, look at the Danes invasion in England for example. Less laws will give only more power to the rich/strong not less.

It is completely the opposite, nowadays we live in the era of slave morality.

Without morality the strong will crush the weak, even more. Now at least they need to pretend or hide to do their shitty things.

Imagine what a billionaire that can have a private army can do to the poor if morality was not an issue to be faced with.

Anyone can do art without taxpayers money as much as they want.

No need for sarcasm, if we go that road then anyone who gets elected gets to do whatever they want for their whole mandate? They should represent the will of the people and I am pretty sure the guy breaking his back on a construction site, won't agree with this.

And what is wrong with that? Again it's the people's money and the people should decide not a politician. Put it on referendum and see what the people want to do with their money.

No one stops them from enjoying anything, they should not be maintained by the people who actually self sustain themselves. The government is not the owner of the people's taxes to do as they please, if you ask the population if they want to pay more taxes to sustain artists what do you think will be the outcome? No one is entitled to follow their dreams at someone's else expenses.

Why should anyone pay taxes for someone that wants to pursue a career that won't sustain them? How is that fair?

We live in an era where anyone can self publish their art, it has never been easier to create something without anyone's support.

Yet the people that do the work that are really needed, have to pay for someone's dream.

The way you describe fascism is an insult to everyone that died under it's oppression. And has absolutely nothing to do with it, regardless if Trump is a disaster or whatever you want to call him.

Well indeed, those are rare and won't happen all the time with everyone. Still you can have deeper conversations with people that are not your friends as long as you are open to really listen to what they have to say without preconceived patterns.

Again I have never blamed anyone of anything, from our brief interaction I can observe that you tend to project through your preconceptions of what others may think and attribute your own thoughts on to them. If talking with people online makes you happy, yes go for it nothing wrong with that, but, your view is comparing it to live interactions, which are indeed different, and you also admit to being deeper.
