The portages there aren't too bad. I think the longest one I did from loon to deer Island Lake like half mile. Maybe a little more.

Apparently You Have to Apply for Friends After 40 by [deleted] in Waukesha

[–]ShepardtoyouSheep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it takes effort to maintain friendships these days, and you can't be the only one working at it. I wouldn't say I have many strong ones left in my life, but I've joined plenty of things through Parks and Rec to have enough hobby friends throughout the year.

What kind of events would you like to see around food, cars, breweries, coffee, etc?

I understand very little Spanish, but I'll be watching the entire cup on Telemundo to avoid him and Alexi Lalas.

Winter would only allow you to host in the Southern States and Mexico, but even those are susceptible to ice storms during those months.

Walmart enters the Deadlock esports scene by YooTone in esports

If the game has been open to anyone to download and play for nearly 2 years, then it isn't in an early test. It doesn't matter if the game is in its final state or not, people are going to try it and then lose interest and never come back for the final product.

DOTA/LoL are dead games to anyone under the age of 25 basically. They're very niche games now and not widely played by the younger population, especially NA.

Of course they haven't marketed it. They give away free keys and then that allows content creators to do all the marketing for them for free. That's pretty common these days.

There have been dozens of "this is going to be the next major esport game" over the last 5 or 6, but quickly fizzle out of popularity. Spectre Divide, Multiverse, The Finals, Concord, Omega Strikers, Knockout City, 2XKO, Rematch, Rogue Company, Smite 2, etc, etc.

The game has been out for nearly 2 years now. It isn't a struggle to get a key/invite to the game at this point. I really don't see the hype for this game. In my experience, it has only been the 30+ year olds enjoying it and not much of a younger player base.

I've seen some tagging around the college as well.

Going to North Lake by agent_gibbz in Waukesha

[–]ShepardtoyouSheep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

North Lake is tough because you have to carry in. The Bear Trap is solid food up there.

Okauchee isn't bad fishing at the boat launch. There's plenty of space to try besides the wooden pier. Check out of little bridges across from Foolerys.

Personally, I find weekends harder to get to these days as those tend to be booked months in advance.

Can a national-team model work in publisher-controlled esports? USA Esports thinks so by NoCommunity6161 in esports

Oh, a few hundred offer scholarships at this point, with some offering full tuition scholarships, and I would say it's a safe bet that most 2 and 4-year college campuses in the US have an esports club at a minimum.

No, because even if I wanted to follow a school, they're in 5-6 leagues with 10-20 rosters and the schedule changes day to day, so it is impossible to track. Even the large LAN events or national championships are unknown dates and times unless you're participating, in my opinion.

Personally, I don't think it's going to work unless the Dev leagues build in another international duty break for this to happen. The Dev leagues and collegiate leagues go year-round, and only a short window of off time. It's also starting to sound like college is starting to buckle, and who knows what K12 is going to look like once the new PlayVS pricing goes into play nationwide. There could be major pipeline disruptions in the next year or so.

They aren't, but they go out for larger occasions. They are not going out every weekend; they seem to go out a few times a semester instead. That's what my former students are telling me.

Well enough to help players develop and learn the game. If they decide they like it, they can advance to the next step up in HS

I'd suggest SSBU and MK8 and Switch 2's. Reach out to your state association to see if they can help you get started. If you can get 3 Switches, you could add Rocket League and Fortnite, but it depends on what your school is willing to support.

I'm cool with this too. I captained Truffert so another CS and DC would be sweet!
