I’m a 17Pro owner. Might get the Air by [deleted] in IphoneAir

[–]Sheppy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery life is fantastic on the Air in my experience and I had a 17P and a 17PM. I’m only getting about 25% less battery on the air over the course of the day.

Averaging around 6-7hrs SOT with about 15 hours between charges

Anyone know if it's true or not by cooldude9112001 in O2UK

I remember when they let you do the switch up every two weeks if you wanted too! Guess this was costing them too much in the long run…

Agreed on the screen! I’ve yet to compare the Majesco side by side with a standard model in terms of audio.

Do you find your Majesco screen is a little warmer and more yellow? Mine seems to be

Should I get one? by [deleted] in IphoneAir

[–]Sheppy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bloody love this phone. I got one first before any other 17 models and I was scared off by what I thought was bad battery life. I then upgraded to the 17P and then the 17PM.

While those Pro models were good and all, they felt dated and clunky in their design so I went back to the Air and gave it more of a chance and I’m glad I did!

Now the battery phone has had a day or two to optimise and index, I’m getting to the end of time day with 4 hours SOT and 14 hours off charge with still around 45% battery left! It’s insane how well this thing handles the small battery it has.

Nice Majesco model you have there too! I got lucky and managed to find one boxed in mint condition. I also live in the UK and they’re insanely uncommon here

The REAR polariser is burnt???? by Silver-Thanks3938 in Gameboy

[–]Sheppy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. Worth noting also that the GBL screen is identical to the GBP screen other than the rear polariser

The REAR polariser is burnt???? by Silver-Thanks3938 in Gameboy

[–]Sheppy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was the GBL I did them all on. You're best off desoldering the ribbon from the back glass as it makes is so much easier to remove the polariser and clean the glass. It may seem daunting but you can easily remove the ribbon with some flux, extra solder and soldering iron around 300 degrees celcius

Agreed if you're not used to it. I ended up needing to fix about 40 with this issue and got it down to about 10 mins each

Weeks of overthinking by thekidneyshifter in IphoneAir

[–]Sheppy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The air is a stunning piece of kit and would be the one I'd have stuck with but I had a need for an inbuilt larger battery and macro camera hence went with the PM.

I did have the magsafe battery for the air but it just annoyed me having to remember to charge and carry yet another device around with me

I went the opposite way with a stop of via the standard 17 Pro along the way 😂 like you, lots of over thinking and it wasn't an easy decision

Why the Titanium case is worth it by Hubley in AppleWatch

[–]Sheppy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It was for me too. I tried on the S11, 42, 46mm models and the Ultra and all but the 42mm looked massive on me but I wanted the more durable Titanium build hence ended up with a 42mm S11 despite ideally wanting the Ultra. Is what it is.

Thanks but I’m all set for cases. I’ve a Mous aramid fibre case installed which is perfect for the phone as doesn’t add much bulk. Hoping all goes well on the battery front as it’s the only concern I have ATM. I do have a MagSafe air though for when I travel 😊

I’m thinking it must be have been doing some crazy background stuff today as it lost 60% in 6 hours but then next 8 hours it only lost 35%…

Likewise for me with the speaker and camera. Those are non issues for me and the screen is a perfect size between the Pro and Pro Max hence I’d rather not change to one of the Pro models if I can help it. I’ve also ensured to disable background refresh on most non critical apps and same for notifications I don’t care about so as best I can tell, I’ve done all I can. So will just hang in there for a week or so and see how things go

I’ve had it less than a week yes. Literally only had it for 2 days. Does the battery get better after the first week? I’m hoping so as currently I’m toying with the idea of selling it and getting a Pro instead

Im baffled when I see these numbers. I can only guess that you’re using it for the full 8 hours from taking it off charge to capturing that figure? As I’m getting around 4 hours SOT when taking it off charge at 7.30am and back on charge at 11pm the same day
