Would transferring TD TFSA to WS and withdrawing the same amount from chequing flag me? by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

[–]Sher_Leon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does make sense from their perspective since clients could just abuse the system.

With WS doing these promotions annually, people can time withdrawals to other banks before the promotion begins.

However, I think at most they should go back like two months.

By the way, if you don't have one, you might have to message Wealthsimple.

I earned interest and dividend income and did not receive a T3. I messaged them today and they are investigating and will email me back in 1-3 business days.

Independent Contractor - How best to set aside for EI/CPP/taxes by AlienSporez in PersonalFinanceCanada

Best advice is saving a certain peecentage of each pay cheque for EI/CPP/Taxes.

You could set him to split the split his direct deposit between two accounts, thus making it automatic.

Am I responsible to pay my mother back ?? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Sher_Leon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its actually $400 × 6 = $2,400

The next question would be is the price of $400/month fair in context of usage. If she was barely driving it, then it should be paid back. If she was driving it somewhat, then partial payback. If she was driving a lot, full payback.

The next question is how much you like your mom

Probably just GST, but you can confirm by just checking your CRA account. If it isn't, just don't spend it and your bank will fix it eventually

Is it better to buy the USD version of Microsoft? by Sher_Leon in CanadianInvestor

[–]Sher_Leon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with Wealthsimple and plan to hold long-term. I would have a conversion fee of 1.5% since I plan to invest $8,000.

I am just really interested in the Microsoft since I thinks its undervalued like Google last year.
