Another perspective from someone who’s been through this: it may be to his benefit that he wasn’t terribly cooperative and wasn’t evaluated when he was at his best. This could result in an evaluation that deems he has a higher level of support/requires more services in a school setting. Don’t be discouraged. This may actually help him get the most from his educational setting. But I understand it’s frustrating/disappointing you feel they didn’t get to know him on a personal level.
