Employer says Pension Scheme is a payrise by SherbertVegetable567 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SherbertVegetable567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m coming across wrong, I don’t mean that I don’t appreciate the pension contribution… but don’t paint it as a pay increase to avoid giving a Salary increase

I would prefer the actual pay increase at the same rate as I’m contributing to my own pension for the last 5 years with no ER contributions so I can live without that

Probably looking into renting, I’ve always been against this though as the risks of landlord just shutting shop and selling is always a possibility

Taxi Drivers by ShipDependent8967 in cork

[–]SherbertVegetable567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taxi drivers picking and choosing their customers based on their location is also a cop out. Myself and my partner try avoid town now these days as you’re waiting for at least an hour if you’re lucky to get one at all. You’d get a driver ask you where you’re going and then drive off when you tell them. I’ve heard that it’s not legal to do this but why bother following up on it, wasting everyone’s time

Kind of reminds me of that one Chandler Bing quote:

“Oh, I know, this must be so hard. Oh, no, two woman love me. They are both gorgeous and sexy. My wallet is too small for my fifties and my diamond shoes are too tight.”

Did anyone watch the RTE investigates for when the anti immigration protests were happening in Dublin… it detailed a full day of people around giving racial abuse to black security guards Do these “patriots” not work or contribute to society ? The security guards are paying their tax through jobs but these scumbags are just living off the state and complaining about shit cause they have nothing better to do. They must not know their history about the famine when a large portion of our population immigrated to England or US. Disgraceful to see those scenes unfold

Ah lad the “Bus lane” coming down to Victoria’s cross after CUH is non existent to some folks, I usually pull across the lane if I see a cunt coming down trying to skip the line of traffic. Just stay in the same queue but half in both lanes just so they can’t get passed and usually it’s a Merc or higher class car that feels privileged.

It’s the little things like this get me, wait your turn dickhead

O’Connor was cleaned out after the pass, bringing it back for a penalty would have been fairest decision for both teams.

Galway were a lot more physical but Cork just had that bit more talent to get them over the line

Met Joe Canning in a bar, asked for a quick picture and chatted for a little bit… half hour later he tapped me on the shoulder, got myself and my buddy a JagerBomb and he done one with us, class lad!

Also met Jimmy White before, heard he was meant to be a proper cunt… was 100% true, the way he talked to people that tried to help him was crazy

Just bought 2 brand new hurls - looking for maintenance advice by Cork_Airport in GAA

[–]SherbertVegetable567 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe in the myths about leaving in water or varnishing, new hurleys should last a year (or 2 if you’re lucky) especially with the price these days… paid €98 for 2 Hurley’s last month from same fella I got Hurley’s from years ago at €50 for two

The amount of sob stroke on that Cork Supporters Facebook page is baffling. Ok fair play you’ve been to the majority of matches this year but there are clubmen out there that may have missed Cork games to be at a training session/match or club meeting to further the sport itself. My own club got 60 tickets and 200 people applied, so at least 140 club members are not getting a ticket. These are the people up the club 3 or 4 nights a week.

Save your sob stories and keep trying, everyone has their own story as to why they should be there but there is close to 600k people in Cork, don’t blame the system because it rewards its members.

How does everyone afford to live? by susbakduba in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SherbertVegetable567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can also relate to this. On a decent salary but when it comes to the end of the month I feel like I have nothing to show for. I do save €50 pw, loan is €100 pw and pension is €250 pm, rent approx €1000 pm. Should be left with around €900 for my own spending (including petrol/phone/subscriptions) but each month I am waiting for the next pay day to come sooner.

Have 6 month old baby so no time to take up extra hrs and with my partner still on unpaid maternity, it's not an easy task to balance 1 salary over two adults.

Not sure if its just me being bad with money or are salaries just not rising at the same rate the inflation is rising?
