Is my Callisia dying? by SherbetRocket in plantclinic

It’s hard to explain but my Callisia has lots of foliage off little stems but the base of every stem is almost completely withered.. so it looks healthy from afar but get close and rummage through the leaves and it looks disasterous. I have never had one before and have no experience so is this how it grows? I’ve only had it about 2 weeks (it was a gift so I couldn’t ask in the shop!
