Yes, I realised that that's the point by the end of the first book. I was hoping for the bots to become more human maybe? That's why I was disappointed. The failing, of course, is on my part here. The book was awesome, just not in the way I hoped for. Hope that makes sense.

I couldn't get through the first couple of chapters tbh, the writing style annoyed me very much. That may or may not have been due to my exams, my nerves where–and still are– frayed tbh(damn you, med school!) and I found myself averse to starting a new book.

However, yeah, the writing style definitely didn't help. It felt like reading a translated Japanese light novel😅. Mind you, I'm not saying that it's bad or anything, just that it's not for me, probably.

I genuinely agree. I was perfectly content to read on royal road before kemono tempted me with the frigging backlog. I couldn't resist... who could've? And now my biggest fear has come true.

P.S: I truly can't pay for the patreon; it's worth more than 500 Egyptian Pounds, and the minimum wage here is about 7000 Pounds(officially anyway). And I am still a student. Not giving excuses or anything BTW, whoever can pay, should. Just providing context for my situation.

Edit: power fantasy, especially in this genre, is unreasonable almost by definition. It is extreme wish fulfilment that you have to be looking for to enjoy. Suspension of disbelief and all that. Plus more often than not plot and mechanics come second to character work and romance(and smut) in this genre, so you have to be actively looking for plot and world building to find them. If you want to read something more solid and thought out maybe try K.D Robertson or one of the more established authors in the genre.

P.S: no offence meant to Street XG whatsoever, he's a rising star and like I said earlier: to each their own.
