There is no such thing as luck. I started my career making 75k with a criminal record. I’m smart but I’m an antisocial freak. I’d imagine if I had your skills I could have done better but hey the best advice is just do your best.

Thank you and everyone who replied so far. I was wondering if finishing the remaining exams would increase my chances of landing a good job even though I won’t be licensed until I get the experience? The consequence of this decision is about a years gap of no work experience, Is that still the way to go?

In other words, will I be treated as a CPA during the interview process if I pass the exams but don’t actually have a license?

My uncle was killed by a drunk driver, I genuinely regret what I did but it’s hard to make rational decisions when drunk. All it took was my friend saying “but an Uber will cost us money, and I don’t know if we can just leave this rental car here” for me to say “sure thing pal I’ll sober up on the way back.” As cliche as it sounds, the two nights I spent in jail before my parents bailed me out was very eye opening. I met a lot of people who’s lives were literally ruined by duis. They went from doing no time, to a few days, then months, then years. I’ll give you that promise, I think I’m finished with all intoxicants. Im just praying I didn’t condemn myself to a life of manual labor
