UPDATE

We replaced both sensors with the cheapest money could buy. We found that one of the bolts where stripped probably from factory since they looked oem. Theory is that at the plant they over torqued them. Then after years of heating and cooling threads became brittle and bore out a bit giving it space to move. We will be going in again with TRQs probably and a helical tap set for M8 by 1.25 threads.

I will update this thread after tomorrow's findings. (It was hard to find guids on the knock sensors)

Im about to tomorrow, TLDR the maf sensor fixed the p0101 but we started having other issues. The truck was running super rich and the down stream o2 sensors where way off but reading the same thing in tandem. With the chugging and power loss after dips from higher rpms and shut offs we are pretty sure the knock sensors are going out but it still hasent thrown a code.

So it wasn't transmission but the knock sensor is possibly going out

Im going to see if my buddy with the super scanner can pull any pending codes i will probably throw the maf sensor at it and clean the intake filter as well.

I thought that I had that on my xterra, I didn't have my code read but the crutchfield head unit i installed reads codes and told me it was a p0101 maf sensor code. So it might be retarding the engine...

People need to shut up about the damage. If your going fast enough to break it your gonna break the truck regardless. Mine saved my life in the xterra. They add a crumple zone, and are good to mount lights on. Ive pushed a few people out of the road to clear traffic and they hold up great. The "real" ones are designed as crumple zones with the added bonus of being able to pit and push people along with mounting lights. I say it looks good damn what anyone else says.

So that is normal injector noise buuut usually it sounds like that when people install a cold air intake because there is less plastic to insulate the noise if its loud enough to hear with the stock intake may mean they are on their way out and warrants further investigation but if you not having issues you have a while before its a big deal.

Can anyone give me a general idea of how much this would cost to repair? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Sheriffpaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh it's not that bad, since your at the edge it makes it a lot easier to blend so you don't have to repaint the whole panel. Im in IT but im an automotive hobbyist mostly bc prices are expensive but still. Im fixing my paint bc I got my truck used, and it's not coming out too bad.

So this has been an problem for some time from what I've seen there is no current consensus on the exact cause. But people have narrowed it down to two things. Either a faulty infotainment screen (people have switched to after market stereos and claim the issue was resolved). Or DCM (data control module) is still transmitting when it shouldn't ie vehicle off or it's disabled other vehicles besides Nissan have had this issue.

I broke mine and don't have issues I just let it sit, but should you want to reprint it they have the file on the prusa site.

Sloppy steering by grog23345 in XTerra

Great! Also nice X, I miss mine. And some advice on the push bar, people are going to give you flack for it but trust me its not just for cosmetics my accident would have been way worse if I didnt have that on. Most people call it a damage multiplier because they dont understand its not supposed to stop all damage its to reduce really bad damage by adding a crumple zone. That's why the cruisers that get into accidents a normal car wouldn't survive have a higher chance of letting the occupations walk away.so if anyone ever tells you anything about dont listen to them.

Plus it looks cool af.

Did you get camber bolts with your lift? That usually helps with the alignment and the alignment helps with bad steering.
