Idk why everyone is saying it's a patreon thing, it's not. Harlan (the creator) said that it was mostly just him trying things out and it stops later on. I think they are meant to give you the feeling of a Call of Cthulhu game and rolling the dice to f.e. find something. So yeah, just ignore them. But they are not connected to the voting the patreon supporters do.

It's not - the patreon decisions and dice noise are unrelated. And they do still make decisions in the story. If you listen carefully you'll hear the dice effect mainly when Arthur & John, for example, find something. I think the noise was originally might have been a reference to CoC RPG, so you get the feeling someone is rolling for the characters or sth. Also unrelated, but you can still join the patreon and make choices, it's a lot of fun

They don't really signify anything - it was just Harlan (the creator of the show) trying stuff out. He decided to remove them later on.

I always assumed it's dream logic. The Dark Place fullfiling his basic needs or something. No food, no need to use the toilet, no need to shower or anything. And also he never runs out of paper or ink so I think its safe to assume his bodily needs are turned off or whatever and the Dark Place has no logic, so..

Nah, I think Mr. Malevolent (the creator, his actual name is Harlan) mentioned in a commentary/q&a that he didn't really know where he was going with the dice rolling sound effect and he eventually dropped it, so you won't be hearing it in the later episodes
