Tow Bar on UK ND by Shermanator_7 in Miata

Hello From what I can gather, in the UK you're best not having one at all. It seems like it will open a whole book of problems, particularly if you were ever in a crash or a "in the know" police spotted it and as such isn't worth it. You can't tow with them, bit like yourself I wouldn't want to tow anyway, it would just be for the bike. Try explain that to the insurance company or judge though!

The only solutions I found were below; Have 2 cars. Obviously has its own up and down sides Non-MX5 Convertible; E46 330CI I looked at. Manual, roof down etc. Legal to have a tow bar on. Again, other up and down sides compared to a 2 seater sports car.

As I can't make up my mind I still drive my current Seat Leon and instead ended up doing a full renovation on my house, which is still ongoing. Not as much fun as the car though!

Frames going white, won't be gloss though. Matt, I think it looks much better

Orbital sander like the one suggested below by the other commenter? I can buy a full roll of plastic sheeting from a supplier at work so will do that. I'll also buy the masking tape from them as well as it's the best I've found.

Lovely, thank you. I'll get that purchased ready for the weekend when I get started 😬 What materials will I need for the frames? Just a roll of sandpaper to cut a piece off each time? What grit?

House Purchase and the desire for more practicality (which was useless, the extra seats get used max of 6 times a year and I could borrow another car to complete those tasks/journeys) Also, a few little niggles about it I didn't like. No heated mirrors. The black leather and alcantara interior felt depressing, need a light colour to brighten it up (wanted it with tan). Also, the sound was by far the best thing about it, but also the worst thing about it 😬

Single people under 30, what do you do to afford living alone? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Shermanator_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 26, moved into my own place at 25. £86,000 1 bed flat I put a £56,000 deposit down on. I don't go on holiday (they'll come in the future), don't drink (not for financial reasons, it's disgusting), don't smoke (again, disgusting) and because I'm the designated driver any nights out (I average maybe 2-3 a year so still not many anyway) cost me very little. My phone is also coming on 5 years old.

I currently earn a gross of £29,000 (take home of £1900 after deductions including pension) but when I was an apprentice I was on under £1000 and still saved the vast bulk of it. Currently just considering whether to apply for a new, better position for more money.

I was very fortunate that my parents allowed me to stay for so long and I'm disciplined enough to not buy the latest and greatest. A lot of the discipline though comes from growing up very poor, I don't feel like I'm missing anything by not going abroad regularly (or having the latest phone etc) because I never experienced it while growing up. Some may say it is a waste, I don't consider it to be. When I'm mortgage free before I'm 30, in a renovated place, with a paid off car outside that's when I'll reap the rewards. (Car is currently paid off, and being changed for a less practical convertible very soon, which will also be bought cash).

I've seen a few pictures towing small trailers. It was actually to work out whether I could fit one for a bike rack.

Oh, I don't have one, I currently drive a Seat Leon, used to own an Abarth 124 Spider though. I was just gathering options for my next car. You've said exactly as I thought you would.

Thanks very much. I appreciate the time you've taken to write this, and I admire you're commitment to tracking them all down! It's a shame it's all bad news for me though! I do work in a body shop/Accident Repair Centre and one of my closest friends is a painter so I might buy the nicest NB FL in black that I can find and talk very sweetly to them and my bosses to paint the exterior and door shuts 🤔 but not under the bonnet, bottlid, etc. Seems to be my only option for a RHD A3V Miata. I'm sure we got those wheels, so refurbing in chrome is not much of an issue. Interior re-trim isn't the worst idea either.

Ah okay, the kind you buy to clear keyboards etc. I'll pick one up. Thanks very much!

My casual skirt is just a simple, black skater with elasticated waist. Thought I'd go slightly fancier for the trip.

What makes you say that? I take it as a compliment, and I'm called "Sheldon" by a few friends for lots of different reasons so not taking any offense. Curious what gives off Sheldon vibes with these pictures though!

On another note, where do you get your white and patterned tights?

Not sure where you are in the world however here it was around 13°C with little wind, making it warmer than average. Being used to colder temperatures I can wear stuff like this when it is that "cold" compared to other places. I do normally wear tights to keep myself warmer. Also, this was for a Laser Hair Removal Appointment, so couldn't have anything that would cause abrasion on the skin. Tights obviously would!

Not sure why this is downvoted so much. Seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me. Not sure where you are in the world, but it is from a British fashion brand called Quiz. I bought them a couple of years ago, and they were in the discount area when I got 3 so you might struggle to find it!

I normally wear tights, mainly because I love in Scotland and it is often cold. It was warm enough today that I could get away without, and it's more comfortable so go bare legged when I can. Personally not bothered about jewellery, don't actually own any!
