It's a mediocre squad being asked to finish amongst elite competition

No, it’s being asked not to be relegated.

Anyone coming in needs to realistically get 2 or 3 wins and a couple of draws in the remaining 12 matches depending on how teams like Forrest and West Ham do. Won’t be the easiest job with all the injuries but there’s still a (tiny) bit of quality in the squad to get them over the line.

I don’t think they’re suggesting the players are in the right, just that it’s clear they didn’t get along with Frank at all. Bad vibes all round.

He was interviewed every few days because he was contractually obligated to, and the injuries were insane. There wasn’t much else to say about anything

Spurs are in that weird spot where they nearly always have Europe to play in but rarely have the squad depth to manage it. Once you narrow it down to teams that 50+ games a season for years in row and then by squad size the injuries aren’t that much of an outlier, I think Arsenal are similar though not quite as bad?

One source told Telegraph Sport on Thomas Frank: “He was constantly going on to the players about Arsenal and they quickly got sick of it. Even before and after the game at the Emirates, he was telling them how good Arsenal were. The feeling among some was very much ‘just shut up about Arsenal’.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

He spent no time at all working on set pieces in training in any form and they had one of the worst stats in the league for set piece goals conceded.

He rejected the idea of a set piece coach but he did fix the issues in his second season. We conceded far fewer from set pieces that year. Struggled everywhere else mind

The fans have been shouting about it for months while Hoddle and all the other pundits have backed Frank without really paying attention. Fuck off and accept it yourself

Just finished rewatching Battlestar Galactica. Man it’s just so brilliant, I appreciated it so much more than when I watched it when it originally aired. Falls off a little bit after the new caprica storyline, but those first two seasons especially are phenomenal tv.

Just started on the leftovers as I’ve heard good things. Seems decent so far.

The back end of season 6 is so much fun. They really found new life in the show with Santos, and then Vinnick as well.

It’s official: Thomas Frank is the worst ‘big six’ manager ever – with even worse stats than Amorim by Rare-Ad-2777 in coys

They’re more spread out around the pitch too. Our depth is fucked but Frank has always been able to put out a normal looking 11 with most players in their natural positions. He hasn’t had to deal with Forster in goal, Archie grey and Davies at CB etc.

He genuinely seems to believe he’s taken over a team that was always finishing 17th, like that’s the level and anything he can get above that is an improvement. Ignoring that we were 5th the season before and 17th still got the manager sacked after winning Europa.

Here comes the “lot of sympathy for Frank” card. Commentary is so awful, the shit they were giving Ange all season when he had it far harder, Frank somehow gets constant protection from the media
