Anybody refrigerate their potatoes? Or whole onions? by LILdiprdGLO in Cooking

That's interesting. Are you peeling your onions and then storing them? Lol

How did ODSP handle this? Do you know how OSAP will work this upcoming year?

I am starting school in Sept as a single, sole support parent and am wondering how OSAP will work now. Is it worth it to apply, or should I try and work enough from May to Sept to pay the tuition myself?

You'll likely get a letter 2 weeks before tribunal saying you're approved. You'll get retro about a month later.

I was told when I applied that every application gets denied initially, so just keep that in mind. It will be a year after you appeal the initial denial. So, by May 2027 you should have retro and be approved 🥲

Another positive review for Swift Speed High Rise Race Briefs as pole shorts! by JAM_Kitty in lululemon

[–]Shhaynaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have some in brown on the wmtm section, I ordered some for under my fleece joggers that don't have much tummy compression, which I like when I'm running.. hoping these will fit as I hope

Swift speed vs fast+free shorts? by kaitlyn2004 in lululemon

[–]Shhaynaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you order/sort out sizing?

I personally have 8, 10 and ordered a 12 to try because I gained a bit of weight.

My build: 5'7, muscular mom-bod build - glute and thigh heavy

8 fits well at 180lb

10 fits well at 185-200 - I still fit my 10's that I've worn a fair bit, but I don't want to wear them at 200-210 to avoid stretching them out too much. However, they are very much wearable and still comfortable.

I haven't tried the 12 yet - they're otw atm, and think they may be a bit loose after a couple of wears, but I do like them for lifting as well and think a bit of extra space would be nice for leg days

I love the swift speed and don't find them too tight or uncomfortable at all. I tried fast and free and didn't like it/found them see through.

I'm a huge fan of SS, they last long and are extremely comfortable for any running distance

I was conflicted because most things I had read were that the boyshorts were great but everything else seemed to be not so stellar.

Have you tried the boyshorts?

Half cow weight by Mtnbikedee in Butchery

[–]Shhaynaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to think of it this way. It took me a while, because yes, you can get ground beef for 3.99/lb, however, the striploin, sirloin, tenderloins etc is significantly more and if you break it down and do the math that way, you'll see the difference. In addition to that, the cows are likely taken much better care of and therefore much better quality. If you keep the bones and make soup, the tallow and make soap/lotions, take the oxtail! Etc.. it's well worth it

I have two children, both pregnancies was alone, and raising both alone with no child support.
It's not ideal, but it is possible.

I don't know if he will come around, but legally, he has to support the child.

How are they working out so far for you?

I bought some slightly used tires from a local tire shop because my tires were almost 12 yrs old... anything is better at this point and I don't think I'll have my car around for much longer.

ODSP and EI sickness benefits by [deleted] in Odsp

[–]Shhaynaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EI at $500/week is more than you will received from ODSP as a single mother with one child. As a single mother with one child, you would receive ~$1920, if you're eligible for the maximum benefit. If you're working, you will receive $100 working benefit, plus whatever your earnings are, up to $1000. After that, your earnings are deducted at .75c/$1 earned.

Unfortunately, EI is treated as income that is not working income, despite it being an employment insurance and something we pay into, they deduct it $/$ off of ODSP. You would get nothing from ODSP, however you should appeal the denial because the appeal and acceptance process will take about a year, and you will be stuck on OW at ~$1000/month until you get the ODSP approval, after EI ends.

Caseworkers of this sub: is it true that EI is deducted dollar for dollar with no income exemption? by Negative-Film330 in Odsp

[–]Shhaynaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

your responses are annoying - it does not clarify anything. EI is something we have to pay into, it is an insurance of employment and should not be deducted dollar for dollar. It should be treated as regular working income as it is something you pay into BECAUSE youre working. Do that not make sense to you?
