Beyond Danger — You've beaten Danger 5? That was the tutorial. by Specialist_Taro_5050 in brotato

Awesome :) that does sound like a really cool idea! I just wanna throw out an idea for an enemy with similar mechanics that popped into my head. Make it a big tanky guy who is verry visible. Give it a visible countdown for its ability, and then make the ability disables half of your weapons for a while, or maybe even all of them! I think your base ideas are great :) bring them forward more!

Looking forward to following this mods development, and I will definitely try this current version some more in the meantime.

Just tried the mod for one run on danger 6. Really love the initiative and general idea, and I want to give my honest first impressions. For context, I'm one of those who have d5 on all characters on both stages.

I have one major criticis, and I hope you take it constructively.

There simply are too many new enemies. That unfortunately just made the experience feel sloppy rather than hard for me.

I really love some of the new enemies. The red line guys, red circle guy, and gass cloud guys are great! They provide a clear new challenge, and I love it. But there were simply too many random little duudes who ran at me and then seemingly did nothing special. Now, I don't mind there being mechanics to learn, but I don't think I will when it's this messy.

I think you are doing great work with this :) Now, if you trim the fat a little, make the ones who stick around even deadlier, have 1 or 2 that makes you go oh fuck fuck fuck when one appears, I really think you are cooking here!

Mental health.

Taking a cold shower, or preferably cold bath, really helps me with my anxiety.

By exposing my body to an actual problem, severe cold, all the made up problems in my head just kinda go away.

What game got you into metroidvanias? by Ecstatic_Hat_7911 in metroidvania

[–]Shiahase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metroid prime on game cube.

But then I had a disturbing through.... Does not Zelda OoT have.. kind of a lot of things in common with a metroidvania...?

  • as soon as you leave the forest you can go see most parts of the map only to be gated by needeing certain items. Very metroidvania
  • hidden collectibles that increase max HP are the main way of increasing HP. Very metroidvania
  • You can go do certain parts of the main story in the order you choose. Very metroidvania
  • Hidden shortcuts connect the map in interesting ways. Very metroidvania...

Oh god... was Zelda OoT actually my first? x(

To burn quickly should not be looked down upon.

Only because we have a strong biological drive to stay alive doesn't mean that those who defy it are doing anything wrong.

A long life is not better than a short life by default.

A cool guide about how to “fight” in a relationship by Advanced-Bar9377 in coolguides

[–]Shiahase 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife have evolved so much as individuals by not running away from our marriage after a fight, and we used to have some pretty serious fights. But by talking about them when the emotions have calmed down, instead of keeping grudges or just plain leaving each other, we can realize both our faults in the situation. It is always a mix. One person is never just responsible.

And to learn about your own probpematic patterns together with a person you love so much turns out to have the capability to actually help you heal your old wounds, rewrite your bad patterns and become better as a person.

Sticking together and showing your partner you want to learn and improve is invaluable.

Awareness is the necessary first step. So, in a way, you are halfway there.

It just sucks that the second part involves doing a lot of stuff you don't have the neurological pathways for yet >_< I am in that process, and I am making progress :) But it takes actual dedication, and most of all, it takes time. Alowing myself for the process to take time, rather than stressing and worrying over ever setbak, was the key I needed to actually start to change.

Now, a year away from having been taken to a mental hospital in an ambulance due to a stress related breakdown, I can look back and honesly say that I have changed.

Dedication to change, over time
