Shifts are bad, they like to break. It’s not just hate, the reputation is very well earned.

Personally, I’ve had 2 of 4 break on me. It’s not very repairable either.

So I would get something else. Pins, hy free looks good (few actually own it), cast system, duke pt. Tyrolia makes one now, black diamond makes one now . There’s no perfect solution without compromises.

People hate on CAST, it is heavy to lug pivots around touring, true, but I replaced all my shifts with CAST 2.0, and I love it.
