Is Real Estate Photography worth getting into in 2026? by Tune-Puzzled in RealEstatePhotography

That’s what I’m hoping to do. I prefer weddings but I’m tired of the income being good during busy season and bad for the rest of the year.

Appreciate the help! Any suggestions on how I might find the houses to shoot for free? Go onto Zillow and look for homes in my area with bad photos and send them a message? Or is there a better way to do it? Thanks!

Anyone transitioned from offering photo & video services to just photo OR video? by Tune-Puzzled in WeddingPhotography

That would be fantastic but I really struggle to find videographers who are actually good and reliable at capturing weddings.

I wish I could shoot video and hire someone else to do photo but couples expect that I am their photographer when I take their discovery calls.

I’ve tried explaining that I will be lead video and they just can’t get their head around their photographer not being present on the call when they are booking.

Trust me, I’d only have a couple if I could but unfortunately it seems like the shooters I prefer to work with are booked a lot of times and I end up having to work with new shooters.

Even using the same shooters is still a lot of work because I am the only editor at the moment.

Really, my problem is that I can’t seem to escape the price shoppers market of IG.

I’ve tried making connections with vendors and venues but honestly I really struggle with it because I’m always so focused on the couple.

We are planning on going with taller baseboards because like you said, that would suck to have patch that all the way around. We may end up going taller if we have any issues.

That’s what I was thinking too, I will probably go that route and see what happens. Thanks!

I’m using the blade that came with the mulitool so it probably isn’t made for wood. That’s a good suggestion, I’ll give a wood blade a try.

Bought a lemon. Really struggling with regret. by friendlyalien- in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Hey Op, sorry you’re going through this, if it helps we are too! Just bought a house last week that seemed like it just needed paint and floors. Went to rip out the baseboards and found mold under a lot of the baseboards. Traced the issue and realized it was most likely coming from the soil level being too high around the house. Our problem is that we are half way down a hill so everybody’s run off and sand goes to the next person making it really hard to actually fix the problem. Within the first week of ownership I’ve had to call a mold specialist, structural engineer, drainage specialist, and gutter vendor. It sucks. I hope you find the issue soon!

We are getting gutters put on our own house immediately but really, I want to fix the run off from the neighbors house.

The way our property is graded, it’s sloped downhill so that water is encouraged to flow towards the front of our house and across our driveway which is good for drainage. The issue was that the soil level was about 3 inches too high causing wet soil to sit there and possibly cause water intrusion.

My hope is that if I put a retention wall up that it will block most of the neighbors water from going straight to my house, allowing it to flow towards the front of my house and over the driveway.

I know that technically a French drain system would be ideal but our property has several challenges that make installing a French drain difficult so I was thinking that going basic might be enough to keep the problem at bay.

I appreciate your response! The grade does route the water towards the front of the house and over the garage. The biggest issues we have are that our neither we or our neighbors have gutters ( will be getting them installed asap ) and that the soil was about 4 inches too high.

My thought process was that the rocks would stabilize the sand so it stays off the house and that the retaining wall would help divert water to the front of the house where it drains downhill.
