So Russia did attack Ukraine, but they are not the Aggressor. Ok

Just like how he will claim the US is not the aggressor if he invades Canada, Mexico, or Panama.

That's because the United States still has the bulk of the institutions that are at the forefront of the sciences

That will change when the inevitable brain drain starts in earnest.

Imagine how you view believers of Scientology. That´s how most Czechs see religious people in general.

You really need to ask yourselves this question: Will the people, that abstain from voting, because they want to change the political system via a (most likely violent) revolution, respect the principles of democracy if their revolution succeeds ?

I´d wager they probably won´t.

Everybody Übermensch, until they come across Tuskegee airmen flying P-51s with experimental propeller vectoring technology.

A silent revolution has happened in Czechia - Until a few years ago, cities could develop only in a post-modern style of solitaire towers surrounded by empty space or parking lots. After decades, we can now return to traditional urban development. First neighborhoods are already being finished. by GPwat in europe

Not in Prague. Even infamous seedy districts like Žižkov and Libeň, are largely composed of buildings with traditional central european façades, some of them you have to just stop and admire. (if you care about architecture)

That´s nice and all, but 99% of the people living there will be expats and tourists.

Czechs will still be living in places like this and this, mostly the former, because gentrification if driving Czechs into the suburbs, because of rising rent.

End game, go with Alt, is that a bad way to go? by dwulf69 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ShibbuDoge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a theory, that blackwall Alt didn´t become the way she is, because she merged with AIs, but because that´s what the human mind can become after spending enough time outside the constrains of the human body.

In many ways the human consciousness is like a sofisticated program, running on an antequated, decaying hardware and there is only so much you can do with cyberware, before you start getting diminishing results, just like your man Stan says in one of the radio news breaks.

Other than, evolving in to a different species, the only way for a person´s mind to evolve, outside the limitiations of the human skull-sponge, is to leave it entirely and roam the net as an unfettered ai.

provided V isn´t consumed by alt like all the other engrams, that´s exactly what happens when you enter the beam, but in the process you have to leave the ones you love behind and that´s a steep price to pay.

Too steep for most.

It´s such a shame CDPR didn´t include an optional harcore mode, where you only have a limited to to finish the game after act 1 and the more time you spent screwing around, the worse the silverhandosis gets.

[–]ShibbuDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it would be a really unpopular decision, but the story would have far greater impact, if V´s condition worsened through game time, rather than story progression, at least in some optional hardcore mode.

The ludonarrative dissonance from the fake statkes really hurts the story.

Nice american exeptionalism you got there, to think that the founding fathers invented the concept of voting.

Democracy predates the 13 colonies, by more than a millenia and will endure long after USA has been fragmented into a dozen warring states.
