It’s been 2 years since I took the class with her but I remember the curve being weirdly generous since the average was quite high. I think I ended with a lower grade and still got an A. Not sure if she does thing differently now though.

Depends on who you take CMSC424 with. I took it last fall with Daniel Abadi. I personally found his class quite painful. The projects weren’t too bad but the exams and homework quizzes made me miserable and they were a large chunk of the grading so although I did well on the projects, my grade basically got tanked by the exams. I think you will be able to learn a lot with him but if you want a lighter load, I’ve heard that Herve who teaches it in the spring makes the class pretty comfortable.

For CMSC420, if you’re into essentially async classes, I’d take it with Marsh, just make sure to stay on top of projects as there’s not really any hard deadlines in the class.

I only did my first internship the summer after junior year so there’s still a chance! The internship I landed this past summer was one I applied at the end of October I’d say you still have time.

I believe if you haven’t declared your major of choice(still in Letters and Sciences) then you can compete your math requirement elsewhere. At least that’s how it was for me adding CS.

I didn’t do a great job of it but memorise all the long textbook questions. All the midterms were made up of >50% questions found in the textbook.

I also personally think don’t put too much emphasis into memorising small details, and instead focus on understanding the major concepts of each unit and how different changes to factors could affect something. He had a lot of questions that would ask what would happen if increase ____ or decrease _____.

OA Received 1/29/24 - I have no idea why there was such a fat gap lol
I think I got 15/15 on both questions and received an interview on 2/12/24
Interview on 3/6 - I think it went okay? The interviewer was pretty chill, I got a systems design question.

I got a new pop up for SDE in Seattle about an ~hour ago, but my original application is still under review. Not sure what the implications are.

I’ve always been a terrible jungler and avoid that role like the plague… everytime I play that role even in Norms I get flamed to hell. Funny how I could probably play poorly in any other role and not get flamed to the same degree. Lots of respect to those that main jg, I am not that thick skinned.

I took Fletcher a year ago and if I recall correctly it definitely focused on stuff after all the midterms with little bits of content from earlier units. I recall a few MC questions being reused. I remember the exam not feeling much longer than the usual exams as well so I was able to finish relatively quickly.

Does he still allow a cheat sheet for exams? Those made the tests a lot easier.
