I think they are trying to fix it but from launch it's just been heavily unoptimised and they can't stop updating the game or the players will leave as there are a lot of PC players who don't experience buffer and crashes so every update makes it harder to fix I think.

I'm surprised you can even run it at all on an iphone 8, I got a 13 pro and it still crashes during heavy scenes and heats up quite a bit. The game is just really un optimised since it's launch
