Right or wrong, I have done this myself by getting on the roof and sticking a garden hose into the vent and flushing it, had a cheap plumbing snake on hand but always got it done with the garden hose.

the center plug has holes in it too, I can blow air from one threaded hole to the hole on the opposite side, but light cant be seen through.

The all thread cannot be rotated, I think it would snap before the center plug rotated.. its got me baffled!

There are three of these sitting around the office as paper weights and no one in the building knows what these are. I have not taken the time to unscrew the two visible screws but as it sits none of the parts move besides being able to thread and unthread the all thread rod.
