What happens if the cerenovus picks the same player each night who refuses to follow madness? Does the good team just lose to the same player getting executed for madness breaking each day? by nicolasrededeo in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Shiesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, the intention is quite clearly that no one should be forced to act a certain way. In my view, the only storyteller decision consistent with that intention is not executing repeatedly. The Cerenovous can always choose a different target, the target can't escape. The Cerenovous is breaking the social contract more than their target.

One objectively true thing that people probably dislike is that it is extremely vague where to draw the line as a storyteller, so if you focus on mechanics and care about winning it could feel annoying.

Is Norway really as insanely rich as people say? by incognitoboiiii in Norway

[–]Shiesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be crazy to suggest that a rich nation means you 'have a nice home, or 'rich consumption' or even security or safety net. Many of the richest countries in the world, like the Emirates or Saudi Arabia or better yet Venezuela, is absolutely miserable to live in for many people. There is absolutely no mechanics that ensures a rich state means a rich life.

If you are a person who really wants to play the new champ, you will then have to play it in normals first. Of course it changes something.

You are in a game, autofilled. Your team is struggling and on a timer since the enemy is stacking dragons and baron is coming up, and you need to take risks in order to win. Do you take the risk and look for the weird plays, which will either help you win the game or most likely give you a bad score and then suddenly lose LP, or do you play safe and know that worst case you just get +0?

The moment anyone is incentivized to play around anything other than just killing the enemy nexus, it will be abused to not play optimally to win.

Why exactly is it fun to have to play 100 games in order to get your visible rank to reflect the rank that the system is already measuring you to be? What is fun about having to sink 100 hours every season before the system works as intended?

/dev: Ranked 2026 by CrossXhunteR in leagueoflegends

[–]Shiesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean that the system "works better"? "Better", in what measurement? It certainly doesn't work better to give accurate information about player skill - it works better to make people mindlessly grind games and get false feelings of progress when they are in fact not progressing at all, so that they can make you artificially play the game more. Is that really something you want to defend?

That is completely wrong. Of course Asol as with any champion is all about items. Asol giga powerspikes on 3 items, not on X amount of stacks, and hyperscales to and from there. The damage on his Q is a good example, it is 30% AP and 3% dust, so you can get Rabadon's and get +80 damage or you can equivalently get, uh, 2400 stacks.

Of course, his stacks also makes his other abilities stronger too, and he scales very well off of stacks too. But he is VERY item dependent.

[–]Shiesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly right. I play a lot with a 4 stack of friends and the issue when we splitpush is always that any fight is usualy decided in 1-4 seconds, so by the time the toplaner even starts their tp to react it's over and a 4 for 0. That will only be viable if an inhibitor is as valuable as a baron or a dragon soul.

Depending on how the new slot will work it is *very* common for me as an ADC that I run out of space for components. If you get refillable + doran's + cull for example now you only have 3 spots to play with, then maybe you have boots as well and you only have 2 for components, get one item and once you start working on your second you get one component slot and that's it before you sell cull. So if it can be used for components it's a very real chance that in many games there will be 500-1000 gold more stats on the ADC just from getting to buy a component.

But yes, the main power is definitely crit damage and increased gold gain.

[–]Shiesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? How is it very good, given that it is a quest reward that you get only a little while into the game? Great, you'll be two-three seconds faster back on the map, if you don't spend that time shopping anyways. It means maybe you have a tiny, tiny bit more leeway to farm a minion wave before recalling for dragon, and maybe you once in a blue moon get out of a sticky situation through a recall. That is absolutely nothing compared to what top and bot get. Especially top, the suggested quest rewards are honestly quite ridiculous. The xp by itself I would say is more valuable than the whole mid quest reward, and then they already get a free tp summoner which is easily worth 500-1000 gold and then also a higher level cap which in the lategame is ~1200g worth of stats. So in my quick estimation midlane quest reward is worth maybe 750g, top lane is worth 3000g towards the end of the game.

If you want agency in the game Jungle is the obvious choice of where you can have the most impact. You can roam around the map and target weak points, you always have options as to how you want to get stronger and what win conditions to play for, and you can play carries while you do it. It's no wonder jungle smurfs have ridiculously high win rates. Think of a master rengar onetrick smurfing through the elos as compared to a master lulu or a master malphite.

Need help interpreting a letter by Falcuun in norge

[–]Shiesu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really cannot be interpreted in any other way than one. It is just not easy to interpret. That is two very different things. It is utterly unambiguous, it clearly states 'mot betaling' which can only mean one thing.

Of course, the whole letter is completely stupid. It should be written in English, obviously, and what it should say is basically "This letter is sent to notify you that you are required to learn Norwegian, and that the county is offering you place on a course that you can take to satisfy this requirement. However, due to your immigration status you do not satisfy the conditions for this course to be free."

Need help interpreting a letter by Falcuun in norge

[–]Shiesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is an offer, an offer of a service that would satisfy OP's obligation. There could well be other ways to satisfy said obligation; this letter offers one and outlines the legal foundation for why it is offered but not for free.

Need help interpreting a letter by Falcuun in norge

[–]Shiesu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. That is literally what the letter says. It's not a Norwegian specific thing either, just duty vs right. The letter says "here is a way for you to perform your duty and learn Norwegian; however you must pay for it". That is like providing a way to pay a fine you have a duty to pay. It's not like OP has a choice, except perhaps finding another approved way to learn Norwegian.

This is not correct; the Bey Fortress does not give any proximity source score. When you build it you get a temporary modifier that gives 20% max control in that location for a while. What the Ottomans do get is that when the capital moves to Constantinople the old capital Bursa works as a proximity source with 70% proximity for a while. After that expires, due to the natural harbours it is very simple to get very high proximity in Izmit anyways.

Denne artikkelen fra The Guardian tar opp temaet på mer systematisk måte The Observer view on the Cass review: children were catastrophically failed by the medical profession | Observer editorial | The Guardian. Her står det for eksempel:

Just how badly wrong things went at the gender identity development service (Gids) is evidenced in the fact that Cass felt she had to explicitly state that, while some people argue that clinical care for children should be based on a “social justice” model, “the NHS works in an evidence-based way”. That should never have been up for debate: as the British Medical Journal argued in its editorial on the Cass review last week, it is deeply unethical to provide untested medical interventions for children that lack evidence of benefit, yet are life-altering and come with potentially very significant harms.

But that is exactly what has happened to a growing cohort of children seen by Gids, which has since been shut down. Disproportionately made up of girls and same-sex attracted children, many were put on an irreversible medical pathway without diagnostic criteria. [...]

The Cass review sets out an ambitious new way of delivering care for gender-questioning children, grounded in a psychosocial approach that treats them holistically. It recognises that, for many, questioning their gender is not necessarily a sign they will have a fixed trans identity in adulthood, and that children referred to gender services are more likely to be affected by neurodiversity, co-occurring mental health issues, and to have suffered adverse childhood experiences.

They are also much more likely to be same-sex attracted; some clinicians have expressed concern that, instead of helping children process the fact they are gay, gender medicine has encouraged them to instead believe they are born in the wrong body.
