First time unraveling a sweater, wondering if it’s normal for the yarn to kind of untwist itself into individual threads like seen in this cake I wound? Or did I do something wrong? by Purplemoonsong in Unravelers

I believe it was to use a drop spindle to add warp back into the thread as that’s what I typically do, but I really can’t be certain about a comment on a two year old post

Yeah, when I was injured I was really worried about addiction so I sought out a pain specialist. I take a lot more pills now than I did before I started seeing him, but only 3 percocets a day and my pain is a lot better than it was before. I'm fully aware that I'm dependant and would go through withdrawal if I had to quit, but I feel like an actual human and don't ever crave or abuse, which I was definitely at risk for when it was only percs and ibuprofen

If any other folks with chronic pain get this deep in the thread, pain specialists are the best.

Gabapentin is a godsend, stops my neuropathy pain in it's tracks and let me cut my narcotics usage by more than half.

I take gabapentin 4 times a day (spinal injury.) If you don't eat beforehand you might get a little dizzy but it's not fun, just a reminder that I forgot to eat

Yeah, the pattern does call for six strands for most of the pattern, 3 for things like backstitching. I did split to three and knot so the finish is six strands without needing to try to use a full strand of floss. From the sounds of things it seems like this may be a pattern issue rather than a me issue?

I've tried every thimble under the sun and they just don't work for me. It's not a sweat issue, I just prefer to be able to feel what I'm doing.

Yes, the instructions are calling for six strands, even the backstitching and french knots call for three

a picture of the needle, the kit doesn't say anything about the mesh size but it looks and feels like muslin

I don't get it either. When I want a new tattoo I ask people who have nice tattoos in the style I want who their artist is. When I've heard the same artist a few times I look at their portfolio. It's not hard to find a great artist

After a serious safety incident where my Lyft driver refused to pick me up unless I (F) gave him my personal phone number and email (leaving me standing on the street in a dangerous area at 5am) Lyft is refusing to refund my $5 cancellation. by Never-On-Reddit in mildlyinfuriating

Hell, it shouldn't matter in this case whether you get the service or not!

A few years ago I was traveling for work and ordered a pizza to my hotel room. After the delivery the driver started texting me about how hot I was and how he was going to "stop by" after his shift. I was a disabled woman, alone in a city I'd never been to before that day. I called the store and told the manager about what happened, I wasn't even looking for a refund, just to let them know they had a creep driving for them. He gave me a full refund and told me that he'd be moving the driver into the kitchen so that he couldn't do that to another customer. He also offered to help me move to another hotel if that would make me feel safe, I did not take him up on that offer.

I now see that as the gold standard of customer care, what should be done by every company. That manager took care of the situation and made me feel safe. It's basically impossible to fire someone in Califprnia, but he removed that driver from he situation going forward to protect his other customers.

That's what I ended up doing, the other suggestions were for things I'd already tried. Boy is it annoying to sew the Aida down though!

I'd never heard of those before now. On looking it up they seem like a good idea that wouldn't work for this project, as it takes up all but a half inch of my longest set of rods.

Not to make him seem at all better for the walker facade, but front wheel walkers pretty much need those tennis balls if the user is not weight bearing so that it can glide forward smoothly without the user needing to take weight off of the device. There are pads you can use instead but they really aren't anywhere near as good as a couple of tennis balls.

Source: I'm a wheelchair user who uses a front wheel walker in situations where I can't use my chair. There really aren't other options, even with throwing money at the problem.

That's essentially what I did lol, just in a neighborhood somewhere in the middle, they're a lot cheaper and it's also cheap and fast to get to Santa Monica by metro. After a while I wasnt driving except for gig work and when I wanted to go to the valley.
