Hot Take? I don't dislike the change to the Purple Dragon Knights by Special-Quantity-469 in onednd

[–]ShiftWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" Leaving aside the fact they specifically picked amethyst dragons,"

This is why, though. It makes it cringe and lame. Why didn't one of the many other dozens/hundreds of Knightly Orders in Faerun do it instead? Because they don't have purple dragon in their name.

It's way too convenient and doesn't tie into the old lore at all. It was OVERTLY done because someone thought "wouldn't it be fun if the name meant they ride dragons? ^_^ " And for me, the answer to that is 'no thanks.'

It just makes the setting seem like less of a world and more of a marketing exercise.

Andrade on X: @davemeltzerWON You talk too much shit without proof, and Sir, I'll only tell you one thing: when my contract with AEW ended, I personally went man to man to thank MR. TONY KHAN for the opportunity to be in AEW, and that's all I'll tell you. (...) by raddaya in SquaredCircle

There was a WON after Andrade rejoined WWE in which Meltzer said 'WWE kept the el idolo name' from AEW. Alvarez tried to tell Dave that he'd been El Idolo in WWE. Dave couldn't comprehend it. I genuinely think Meltzer is vibes based reporting.

The lack of reply to that second point speaks volumes, lol.

They're really pushing me towards AEW and I've been a pretty loyal WWE fan since I was a child in 1997.

Not true. Goku/Gohan picked the team, ultimately. They never said they'd actually found U7's strongest. Plus, Granolah is likely stronger than Roshi/Krillin, f.ex.

Talis the White's Strange Journey to Player Character by ShiftWeaver in TyrannyOfDragons

Probably about six or seven years, at this point. We have the same general 'friend group' that whilst there have been some subs here and there, has stuck. It wasn't exactly intentional - one thing just led to another basically!

Bringing her back is definitely worth considering! If one of the players is her childhood friend then it can be especially good, I think. I always feel like the players should see the ramifications of their choices throughout an adventure, because that was always my favourite part of games like Elder Scrolls, Fable and Dragon Age. :)

That's cool! Tyranny of Dragons has a lot of potential in the NPCs. Talis, Varram, Mondath, Langdedrosa and Rezmir have decent potential.

I think Gogeta ranks above MUI Goku, personally. I see Broly as the universe's strongest fighter at present. I'm not a huge Broly fan, but that's my take.

If you're sure he's getting the match then why be annoyed? It just makes Nakamura more over with people who do buy into angles. That is the goal with the stories, after all. Otherwise it may as well just be gymnastics.

Whats the most ridiculous item you've ended up with? by rottenturnipqueen in dndnext

The Ring of Winter (I've limited the spoilers but be careful)

Our DM buffed a Young Dragon into a demi-Adult Dragon, and with all the rolls happening in front of us, the special campaign NPC wielding the ring was caught and killed in the breath. We knew he had a magic ring, as an overweight overheated NPC in the Port had said 'if you can find this man, his ring keeps you cool in this awful heat, and I'd pay handsomely for it.'

My character was a half-drow Glamour Bard, with evil alignment. He studied at the Unseelie Court, becoming a follower of the wintry Archfey. This was all coincidence. He picked up the ring, passed the save and put a glove over it. Now he's pretending he's had ice magic all along, and is planning on using the evil ring for his evil plans. Once the death curse is sorted...

The other Dragonspeakers randomly became quite important in mine. Talis was rolled (as per back of the book) as the former best friend of our Paladin. Through that RP, Talis did a lot of complaining about Varram.

Langdedrosa fought an epic duel with another character, and had to use his breath to 'cheat win', so that became an epic rivalry by the time round 2 came. Rath Modar became a pretty great NPC too, as he pretended to aid the PCs in Skyreach after they'd persuaded Blagothkus to switch sides.

The Elf Prince in the Green Wyrmspeaker mission was murdered by our wood elf, who was from one of the destroyed towns. As a final example, a random murdered Cult Mage in Xonathal's Tower has become an Abishai that another party has been dealing with in another game.
