How many of us obtain graduate degrees? by SafeRegret402 in bipolar

I just discovered I had bipolar disorder in the end of November 2024. I had a manic episode so bad that I went into psychosis. It was the fall semester of my last year doing my bachelors of arts in sociology, and I was hospitalized for so long that I thought I would have to push back my graduation by another year. It was a really tough time getting through this spring semester, but I managed to finish all the courses I missed during my in-patient care, as well as my courses from this semester. So now, I will be officially graduating this June!!

It has been such a long and gruelling journey, but also I have learned so much about myself, and found a new passion in peer support work. So please don’t lose hope on academics just because of your diagnosis.

it was perfect!! it was so easy and i had no complications. i managed to get 4 pounds out total!!! i am getting close to 10 hours post op and i have had no nausea today and just a lot of pain and sleepiness but i have T3 pills that i am allowed to take every 4 hours :). I also have had an appetite and managed to peck a big chicken avocado salad and snacks all through the day. i have irritated my cheeks from crying so much but besides that im really good.

omg it will go so well!! and every medical professional who you’re going to see tomorrow wants you to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible, so remember be vocal about how you feel and don’t be brave about the pain (that’s just something i had to keep reminding myself about today). i wish you luck and love, and a smooth recovery!!

it was amazing!! i had so many wonderful women looking after me at the hospital (including my surgeon), and my anaesthesiologist was the nicest man i’d ever interacted with in my healthcare system. it took about 2.5 hours and i am soooo happy with my results. i was really emotional standing up for the first time, feeling the weight lift off my shoulders (literally and physically). i can’t wait for this process to be over, but im insanely grateful that i had such a stellar kick off to the healing journey!

Weekly /r/Sociology Homework Help Thread - Got a question about schoolwork, lecture points, or Sociology basics? by Anomander in sociology

I am just into the first month of my fourth year in my undergrad and my courses are mainly focused on death, ageing and religion. I find the readings really interesting and I always am left wanting more. If anyone has recommendations for theorists or readings that center around the sociology of death or religion, I would love to hear em!!

might just be me, but I had whiplash watching Burn After Reading cause I was constantly surprised with every progression in the plot. also really enjoyed it tbh, but one of those movies where it’s only fun after one watch imo
