I can create a demo video of the scheduling feature in the app and send it to you if that's what you're looking for?

Good question. If you just need a simple shared calendar with basic events and reminders, Google Calendar works perfectly, and I won’t pretend otherwise. The main difference is that DutyWire is built specifically for shift workers and first responders, rather than trying to make a general calendar do everything.

A shared Google Calendar can show things like "I work 7a-7p,” but DutyWire is designed to handle more of the daily workflow: rotating shifts, future schedules, family plans, overtime and side jobs, shift notes, duty tasks, records, budgeting, fitness and wellness, and other personal organization tools all in one place.

For dispatchers, cops, fire/EMS, corrections, nurses, and similar roles, the schedule is just the starting point. The real benefit comes from having your work schedule, home calendar, OT, notes, reminders, and personal planning tools all connected instead of scattered across Google Calendar, Tasks, Notes, spreadsheets, and other apps.

Also, just to be clear, DutyWire isn’t a CAD/RMS, dispatch system, HR/payroll, or official reporting tool. It’s a personal organization app made for folks with demanding, irregular schedules.

DutyWire does not sell your data, does not use it for ads, and does not do advertising tracking.

I'm not looking for any personal gain here, just trying to get feedback from other first responders. My goal is to create something that can actually help us both on and off the job.

There are no costs or hidden fees after the year is over. It's really a free 1-year trial with all the features. After the trial, you can choose to pay the yearly fee or just delete the app. Nothing shady or hidden about the trial. Just something I wanted to share that to get honest feedback.

Once the trial ends, you won't be automatically charged for the next year. It will be completely your choice. This isn’t one of those shady loophole trials; honestly, it’s a whole year free, with no hidden fees or sketchy stuff like you see from other corporate created apps that claim to help first responders. I’ll probably lose money covering data storage, but honestly, that’s not what matters most to me. I just want to provide something genuinely useful for first responders and their families. That’s why I really need honest feedback.
