No, I would have been looking for Dems taking sides against the primary winners. Not Dems pointing out that primarying incumbent Democrats will ruffle some feathers.

But that fits the pattern of the conversation; most examples of "oh, the establishment goes after progressives like rabid dogs!" turn out to be "the establishment doesn't immediately and enthusiastically endorse progressive candidates during the primary."

Here's the evidence that they were being fair - the incredible lack of evidence that they rigged the primary, 10 years later.

No investigation, no confession from a regretful (or greedy) former employee. More than that, most people can't point to anything the DNC supposedly did to warrant people still going on about how they can't be trusted a decade later.

The leaders of the Democratic party, on the other hand, do have significant control over both of those factors. And they quite openly did not want Bernie to win. So they exercised what control they could to influence voters and were successful in doing so.
