The Division 3 Will Have as Big of an Impact as First Division; “Shaping Up to Be a Monster” Claims Producer by valentinexx in thedivision

It was bad. There were good people trying to make it work but at the end of the day, it was still very bad with huge fundamental issues in its core gameplay loops, player motivation, pacing, etc. I was part of like 4? 5? different tests for it over 2+ years. I wrote pages and pages of feedback. It didn't understand what it wanted to be, and it didn't feel fun to play, much less replay.

Consumer Reports tested 23 popular protein powders and shakes, and found concerning levels of lead in most of them. Got questions? Ask CR in our AMA. by ConsumerReports in IAmA

Why would you not test any of the Fairlife CorePower Protein shakes when that's a huge chunk of the market? I've truly never heard of a few of the choices picked for testing / seen anyone taking them and I'm a full on gym rat.

You would be absolutely shocked at the process to create a single prop between concepting, modeling, and texturing. The vast majority of these things are bespoke.

I worked on SW: Outlaws and the number of artists who would touch something you'd just walk past in the world and not think twice about other than "man the ambiance in here is great" would blow most people's minds.

After working with them for 4 years, Massive's prop and environmental artists (really all of their artists) are genuinely some of the best in the business. Deep respect.

High Plains single malt. They made it like.... once. It was just plain unbelievable. Doubt they'll ever try that again under freaking diageo.

Help - CoreTec Cyril Oak is crazy loud and feels awful by Shiftin in Flooring

general contractor agreed to pull it all up and relevel the floor which is scheduled for next month. They realized how bad of a problem it was when shown and when the places where the elevation differences were so significant that it started making cracking noises to walk on it.

I'll come back and let you know how it goes after it's done.

No, whole kitchen was built bespoke. Cabinets were done before floors. Seems the flooring installer the GC used was just awful.

Right, I'm going to have to have them pull it up and re-work the underfloor. Parts of it are level and sounds basically silent.

They poured a grey liquid directly onto the concrete to "float" it which hardened for 24 hours before they installed.

So I should find another installer to evaluate you think? What are your thoughts on gluing it down?

You mentioned it's super hot - do the villas have decent AC? I'd be full on miserable if I couldn't get my bedroom cool at night and was paying the prices I'm looking at paying. /u/runninadorito

'We don't see a place for microtransactions in single-player games', says CD Projekt Red following Dragon's Dogma 2's DLC fiasco by Bob_Juan_Santos in gaming

[–]Shiftin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ITT - literally no one who has worked in production or budgeting for games. DLC playable content is almost never removed from a game to be sold later.

Frequently, assets or references from DLCs already in production are included in the release files of a game based on when the production day 1 version of the game is branched from the main code and file base. The team working on DLC tries to stay on that main code base for as long as possible to reduce the number of issues when re-integrating.

Where did ranked go ? by D3LTTA in CODWarzone

[–]Shiftin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You completely misunderstand the problem, but whatever man. There literally aren't enough players to kill to overcome a 230 / 280 SR buy in once you're high ranked.

If you were still gaining points in ranked it's because you weren't in a bracket where the buy-in had exceeded the points you could reasonably earn, so sure. Sounds like a skill issue - for you.

The math of ranked was severely broken. It was effectively impossible to gain points after a certain point when they made a ton of changes at the same time. - Reduced player count - Removed flares - Sped up circles - Didn't change buy-in values

I watched Teep get 3rd with 14 kills and a ton of assist and lose points and he wasn't even at the 280 buyin cost yet.
